Looks like Ed is coming for that #1 with the collaboration version of 'Perfect' with Beyonce, its been re-titled to 'Perfect Duet', it sounds really corny actually. The only other new entry which most likely to chart, the new track by Louis Tomlinson 'Miss You' not forgetting the winning artist from ITV's X Factor tomorrow night will be releasing their single at some point after the show. With the usual clutch of Xmas tracks from Mariah, Wham, The Pogues feat. Kirsty MacColl, Roy Wood & Wizzard etc etc, are likely to peak higher inside the top 40.

On the album front U2 are more likely to occupy the #1 album, with 'Songs of Expereince' and Pete Tong, The Heritage Orchestra & Jules Buckley 'Pete Tong Ibiza Classics'. Nothing else really sticks out especially at this time of year.

Curious to see what Sales the U2 Album will get this week. Before SOI they regularly achieved first week Sales of 150k+, there will be a decline but the question is will they have enough to get the #1 spot. Sam Smith's Album will sell 50k+ this week and there will be boosts for Elton John (appeared on The Graham Norton Show), Pink (TGNS and X Factor) and Little Mix (XF).

If Rak-Su win with a never heard before original, then they could beat Ed Sheeran to #1.

Grace and Kevin would probably go top 5/10.

Anyway, can see Little Mix or P!nk taking the #1 spot. Louis to miss the top 20/40 plz.

Lol Screech haa already peaked so why the hell would she be at no.1??

Sam Smith will get no.1 album :o

Rak Su v Havana v Anywheee for no.1

Perfect Duet :puke: Arrogant much?

Pink has a new single out, you know.

Looking at streaming and iTunes positions, I don’t see anything but Perfect being number 1 this week. The question is: Will Beyoncé even be credited?

from minty:

Neil Claxton‏

@mintroyale

Probably worth a bet on Ed Sheeran and Beyonce for Christmas number 1.

Is his duet charting separately from the normal version or is it being combined?

Neil Claxton‏

@mintroyale

Combined. It’ll be a big number 1 this week by the looks of it, I’m sure it’ll stay there for 3 weeks to take the Yuletide crown.

Edited by Bjork

How are they justifying merging the merging of Perfect, they are two separate versions. They never merged Sam Smith's Lay Me Down when it was released featuring John Legend?

Isn’t that because one was a charity single? That’s the only exception. Every other situation has been combined as far as I know.

Essentially, Sam Smith and John Legend was an exception, not the rule.

It's well documented on here now that the OCC make up the rules as they go along, although I think the reason Lay Me Down wasn't combined was because it was a charity version.

That was because the other version was released under a different record label. Remix versions are legitimately combined in this way and there are many, many examples. For once the OCC are being consistent here.

The duet version of perfect isn’t that good neither. The original is far better and perhaps a good fitting for xmas no1.

Hoping P!nk's "Beautiful Trauma" can go top 40 in the singles chart this week with her promo. It needs to be added to a bunch of spotify playlists to start getting its streaming up though. Hopeful her album will rise back into the top 3/5 or even contend for #1!

haha that was me asking Minty ;)

@martipujolar

so she's definetely credited? (some thought she might not)

@MintRoyale

Replying to @martipujolar

She’s not credited - the chart shows it as just Ed Sheeran (at the moment)
