With the Radio 1 jigsaw thing proving harder to solve than they probably originally thought Jack Saunders is being given an actual shot at daytime today as he covers for Scott Mills from 1pm. No word on who will cover his show this evening but it'll likely be Nels or Kerrie brought in last minute.

Jack Saunders is officially the new chart host!

Been amazing to see his rise over the past few years, he started off on the 11-1am shift in 2018!

I'll miss Scott! Quite enjoyed this puzzle thing the past week. Hope they have more activities like that going forward, radio needs to act like it's still a top medium.

Yeh good to see, he was great with Jo Wiley on the Glasto coverage last month.

The DJs normally start on the nighttime slots. I remember Scott Mills did early breakfast 4-6am in the 90s when he started on R1!

Wait a second. Are they getting rid of the 1xtra takeover then?

Wait a second. Are they getting rid of the 1xtra takeover then?

I don't think so. Jeremiah's show is already a part of the 1Xtra Takeover and is just moving timeslots. The drum and bass show has previously been a part of 1Xtra simulcasting overnights before so I can't see why they won't just include it or only have 7-11pm as the Takeover only if not.

Charlie said before she went on maternity leave that she’s not planning on being off for very long so James will fill in until she returns in the autumn.

So here we are! Last week of Scott Mills and Chris Stark on afternoons! Really is the end of an era.

Rumours are also going around on the Gregg James fan page on Facebook that he’s leaving breakfast in January, apparently has been leaked by Chris Stark on a podcast. Nothing confirmed as of yet. I really hope it’s not true, there’s been so much change over the past year, the schedule really needs stability and time to bed in now.
