Cue endless speculation where Rihanna's name is brought up but it ends up being someone wholly underwhelming :kink:

Listening to radio 1 this afternoon was…fun

Scott played ‘All I Want For Christmas Is You’ in full, his excuse being ‘it’s my last show’

Guess I can let him away with it, he’ll be missed

And I did find myself bopping along x

Yeah it was a lovely last show for them both, quite emotional. Full of tunes too, 'Nasty Girl', 'Beautiful' and 'Dry Your Eyes' in particular were highlights, along with their final song 'Night Changes' :)

It was a great last show best of luck to him at Radio 2

Just uploaded an old show from 11th March 2004

There'll be more so keep on eye on this playlist

I've shed some tears today, I will confess x

The show has been a constant for me through so many changes and an escape from the real world. It's provided me with SO many laughs where I can just listen to mates doing the most stupid things for half an hour each day. To know how much it means to both of them as well is even more heartbreaking but I completely understand the reasons why its come to an end. Interestingly, Scott said he was offered at least another two years at Radio 1!

Was on the verge of tears listening to Scott's last show, 24 years on Radio 1 is some achievement. Still doing his tradition of playing Mariah as this year's first Xmas song the highlight of the show.

Good luck Scott on Radio 2, looking forward to Dean and Vicky in his old slot though.

Can't believe Scott's time at Radio 1 is over, such a legend!
Just caught up and I genuinely cried at Chris and Scott's final messages, what an end of an era. Scott has been pretty much the main constant for me be it travelling home from school, working at uni, coming home from work and even lockdown recently there he has been with his show of fun and games. It just won't be the same.
So 1Xtra's simulcast on Saturday nights has been scaled back from 10th September. It'll only be Jeremiah Asiamah and Tiffany Calvert. The D&B Show is R1 only whilst 1Xtra will have their R&B Show from 11pm.

Starting to think Taylor Swift is now one of the 'special guests' for Live Lounge Month still to be announced.

Also 00s day is here. Wall to wall bangers so far and they're spinning different tracks to what was played at Easter.

I intend to keep a playlist going for the show starting this weekend too which includes the tracks from the specials so far this year.

^ honestly one of the best things Aled has implemented since taking over as head of the station. The talent we've had, that have then gone on to secure regular relief cover and now even actual shows, is impressive.
Totally agree. A great opportunity for budding presenters to get themselves heard. Think a couple of previous presenters who took part have managed to get jobs at the likes of Hits and Kiss on the back of it too.
They did play Drake - Toosie Slide and Michael Calfan - Treasured Soul this morning on Greg James this morning which did surprise me. Greg got the tone right I thought with his discussion on the show.
Newsbeat has its music back and some other news included today. The music's still a little subdued. 1Xtra's Takeover has been cancelled. It's likely from 4pm it will just be chilled dance like it was last night. First Look Chart is gone from tomorrow's schedule.
They are using the same set of songs they played yesterday.
