August 17, 20186 yr Another fairly dull track. Why on earth did he change his style? I haven’t liked anything since my way.
August 17, 20186 yr I really like this tbh, it's taken a few listens but I'm into it, it's no all-time Calvin fave but it's nice and groovy, idk if I can see it being that big tho
August 17, 20186 yr I've listened to it a few more times, and it's grown on me so much. I think I prefer it to One Kiss, Sam's vocals are brilliant.
August 17, 20186 yr Surprisingly I'm really enjoying this - the chorus is enough of an earworm for it to be a big hit, but this more stripped back dance sound is so refreshingly different to other stuff in the charts right now.
August 17, 20186 yr Listening to this earlier and I hummed the chorus to One Kiss over this chorus and it fit perfectly :') Calvin on auto-drive already?
August 17, 20186 yr once Calvin finds a style he seems to stick with it for a few singles; see last year as well. it's a bit similar to One Kiss but still unique enough especially in the current chart landscape.
August 17, 20186 yr It's a grower but at first I feel a bit underwhelming... The song has a nice vibe though. Edit: loop it for a few times. My favourite bit is the bridge, his high-pitch is just about right. Still feel a bit underwhelming though, too relaxing. Edited August 17, 20186 yr by Red Blooded Man
August 17, 20186 yr This is fine, I like Jessie's vocals in the track. It's pretty much at exactly the same tempo as One Kiss (although admittedly, Dua's vocals sound more 'dancey' than Sam's). Literally they are like basically the same song with the same tempo beat, the piano just makes it sounds slower.
August 17, 20186 yr Really not a fan of this. So dull. I was expecting to like it at least a little, despite Sam being on it.. but nope. Flush. Next please Calvin.
August 17, 20186 yr I don't usually like Sam Smith's vocal style, but it sounds like a good tune, the chirpy background synths and echoey backing vocals make it sound quite early-00s chilled house to me, a bit like DB Boulevard or Moony. Edited August 17, 20186 yr by The Hiss.
August 17, 20186 yr Oh I was really excited for the drop in this and there just...wasnt one :( It might grow on me anyway, Sam is sounding great, but eh first listen :/
August 17, 20186 yr Ok this does get better with each listen, but it’s still not wowing me :( it’s just ok.
August 17, 20186 yr This is quite nice! I was singing 'there may be trouble ahead' to the chorus just then though
August 18, 20186 yr His songs just don't EXCITE me in any way anymore :( It's all very calculated. I did appreciate Nuh Ready but the problem with that was the vocals were bordering on intolerable. I don't usually like Sam Smith's vocal style, but it sounds like a good tune, the chirpy background synths and echoey backing vocals make it sound quite early-00s chilled house to me, a bit like DB Boulevard or Moony. This doesn't even come close to matching those 2 classics
August 19, 20186 yr I don't usually like Sam Smith's vocal style, but it sounds like a good tune, the chirpy background synths and echoey backing vocals make it sound quite early-00s chilled house to me, a bit like DB Boulevard or Moony. Who's Moony?
August 19, 20186 yr Who's Moony? She was the vocalist on DB Boulevard’s ‘Point Of View’. She also had a Top 10 hit with Dove in the summer of 2002. QLdsGL5M1sQ
