We've talked singles but what about #1 albums? Out of what you've heard what's been your fave #1 album of the year? (I'm going to presume Kylie will make #1 this week).

I expect it'll be Ariana who wins here but for me it has to be Dave.

I've only heard the Ariana, Billie and BTS albums! I enjoyed all three but Ariana wins for me, the album was pleasingly a huge step up from 'Sweetener' I really need to listen to Dave's album though, have been meaning to for several months :drama: I'm sure I'll get around to the Kylie one too as she has a great singles collection.
The only one of those albums I’ve properly heard in full is P!nk’s so by default I’ve gone for that.
Billie Eilish for me as an original album. Kylie’s best of clearly has the most great tracks though.

Completely forgot Michael Ball had a #1 album this year tbh.

Obviously I think Kylie has the best overall but from actual studio albums my choice would be P!nk, which I would never have thought based on just the pre-release tracks (which actually sound much better in the context of the album). '(Hey Why) Miss You Sometime', 'Courage', 'Happy' and 'We Could Have It All' are my faves.

Ariana's album was also really good. I listened to Bring Me and Billie Eilish and could pick out a few I liked.

Billie eilish is easily the best of the lot

sure not a Buzzjack favourite, but the Jack Savoretti is actually pretty good

on there other hand, despite loving SYL and Grace, the Lewis Capaldi album is pretty dull and disappointing

Pink is the only one I’ve heard of want to here. Really good album, too.
In terms of studio albums (otherwise it'd be Kylie), definitely P!nk. Hurts 2B Human was/is such a revelation to me. Closely followed by amo!

P!nk

One of her very best albums and for those who think she plays it safe listen to it I’m full as it’s her most Unp!nk like album since Try This.

From the others I’ve heard

Lewis’s album is strong

I loved Arianas thank u, next but prefer sweetener as an album but it’s still a 9/10

Billies is good but a lot of the songs sounded the same

Daves was a good listen but I haven’t revisited it much

Need to listen to Tom Walkers im full as I’m a fan of some of his singles.

And yeah I meant to mention it goes without saying the Kylie album has a load of great tracks but I haven't actually listened to it as an album and I'm not too keen on most of her pre-2000s material so I've gone with my fave studio album.

My ranking:

9.5/10

=1 The Specials - Encore

=1 Dave - Psychodrama

3. Bruce Springsteen - Western Stars

9/10

4. Tom Walker - What A Time To Be Alive

5. Billie Eilish - WHEN WE ALL FALL ASLEEP, WHERE DO WE GO?

6. Jack Savoretti - Singing To Strangers

8/10

7. Lewis Capaldi - Divinely Uninspired To A Hellish Extent

8. P!nk - Hurts 2B Human

9. Bring Me The Horizon - amo

7/10

10. Ariana Grande - thank u, next (it's close to an 8/10)

11. BTS - Map Of The Soul: Persona

-

xx. Michael Ball - Coming Home To You (haven't listened to)

Can't decide whether Encore or Psychodrama is my favourite of the batch. Encore brought the absolutely sublime sounds of ska to a more modern audience whilst still sounding spectacular, and Psychodrama has a fantastic exploration of Dave's mind and personal life while tackling issues such as racism and abusive relationships.
