not at all, the point of the remix is to change the music and make it more danceable, not distort the vocals

no one distorts the vocals when they do remixes

imagine remixing Kylie or Madonna and making them sound like Tones & I

last time i checked, the rule book of remixing doesn’t say you aren’t allowed to distort the vocals and Imanbek isn’t the first to have done this either.

that's not what I said, come on, you're a dance fan, you know what remixers do

If the vocals were just like the original version though, heaps of people would be calling it u-word sub-human trash.
Plenty of dance remixes distort the vocals though. Stay High (Hippie Sabotage Remix) is pitched way higher than the original Habits for example. It’s just a style of remixing.
It's possibly the weirdest chart entry I've heard in many years (obviously not counting ones that were "intentionally" weird) but I can see myself jamming to it in a week or so, you know what I mean?

Weirder than some of those Billie Eilish songs?

I think this Roses remix fits well though into the European deep house trend recently as we saw with In My Mind/Ride It (especially the former) so its not that weird for me.

Billie Eilish songs aren't that weird they're just intentionally edgy and try hard to be out there imo.

You are right about In My Mind tho, that was a bit of a strange one. And stood out unparalleled in the charts during its time there.

Wow! This is already huge :o I wasn't expecting top 10 in the First Look Chart tbh.

This should never be compared to that Tones & I. For some reason this reminds me at times of 'Wish You Were Mine' with the vocals I guess.

This song is so weird! When it starts it sounds as if half of the song has already been playing and by the end it sounds as if there is still a lot of the song to come. Not to mention the distorted vocal and I couldn't identify a single word said. When I visited my little baby nephew recently I played this song and he cried instantly so he was definitely not a fan hahahaha

If you're comparing it to Tones & I in the sense that they're both tunes then I'd agree :kink:

I'm actually really enjoying this remix, it took me back a bit on first listen but I've really got into it, really glad it's getting this success even if Imanbek isn't getting the credit he deserves (plus I would love to add Kazakhstan to my Nationalities thread :P).
