That's good - I assume and hope that is the case for many places. However you're right, there is a wide range of experiences across the country.

Unfortunately those that work in the sector are the most undervalued and poorly paid in our 'civilised' society: https://www.bbc.co.uk/programmes/p08cm08v

If you follow Lewis Goodall on Twitter he has been BANG ON for covering this with regard to the forgotten parts of the social care service.

I’ve seen Nicola Sturgeon getting so much abuse from non SNP voters online and people in England calling her selfish for extending the lockdown. We’re still having a large amount of cases and deaths and the longer we stay in lockdown the better chance we have of being able to get to normality quicker.

My only issue with the coronavirus is the lying of causes of death, I had a friend who died four weeks ago and it was non corona related but that was listed as reason of death. I’ve seen a lot of things on social media about people saying this too, I don’t get why the government would want to have more deaths listed as corona if they want to get back to some sort of normality!

And so she should. How dare she put the lives of Scottish people ahead of Johnson’s ego? Who does this uppity woman think she is?

There's a Cobra meeting via video link tomorrow morning before he decides finally. It's said he still hasn't finally decided whether to tweak anything. Nicola will be present via video link as will the Welsh and NI leaders.

In another development, Boris has from today banned any minister, Cabinet or even junior minister, from appearing on GMB on ITV as he doesn't want them facing Piers Morgan. GMB is said to be furious according to LBC which I had on last night.

This government's contempt for any type of scrutiny is beyond appalling. The number of people on social media who seem to agree with Johnson that nobody should question the government is positively scary.

Why exactly is it taking him this long to decide though? The man is an incompetent fool. The devolved first ministers know this and that’s why they don’t trust to wait for him to announce something before they do.

UK 'to bring in 14-day quarantine' for air passengers

What an utter disgrace. This is coming in 2 months too late...

And they say it won’t be implemented until the end of this month so it is even more stupid.

This is our government again reacting after criticism instead of acting early. I bet they wouldn’t have even done this if there hadn’t been news stories about the flights last week with no social distancing.

As one of the worst hit countries, someone coming from pretty much any other country has a smaller chance of carrying COVID than someone based in Britain.

It's a good idea which will do some good but sadly its completely unenforceable, and probably a lot of travellers won't obey the quarantine rules. And yes it should have been much earlier.

Indeed, if anything flights from the US should be subject to the biggest controls, as that's where the biggest outbreak is. I think flights to and from the US to the UK should be banned until they get their outbreak under control.

Some of the countries that had eased its restrictions have had to reverse course following a fresh batch of infections, notably South Korea, which has had to shut down over 2000 clubs that re-opened after a COVID-19 positive club-goer was almost single-handedly responsible for every new case in the country the next week.

They should have done it a long time ago but imo it’s more to stop people leaving the country if any flights reappear or anyone is tempted to go away over the summer..

I thought April fools was more than a month ago. Are Tories really that stupid? (Rhetoric question, the answer is a loud YES)

Let's just hope they will catch up to the rest of the world by September.

I'm not tan if the government but to try and blame the government for rules breakers this weekend is nonsense the announcement is tosay but the Stay at Home message hadn't changed so it's the people who are at fault not the government imo!

As usual, government ministers sold their rumours to newspapers on Thursday, who promptly plastered the story over their frontpages - before any official announcement. No wonder rules aren't being followed when communication is so poor and every idea is tested by leaking it to the press.

And they say it won’t be implemented until the end of this month so it is even more stupid.

I was listening to LBC last night and they said essential workers will be exempt and free to go on their merry way. They haven't decided who'll be classed as an essential worker yet but it's a bit silly as they could be the ones infected.

According to The BBC The Queen's withdrawing from public duties, has none in her diary, and will carry on isolating at Windsor Castle with Prince Philip until told by health officials that it's safe to leave there. She won't return to London this month as she usually does and, very surprisingly, won't even go to Balmoral in July unless the situation has significantly changed. She wants to set a good example about keeping to the restrictions and there'd no doubt be an outcry if she went to Scotland.

Despite her absence, Buckingham Palace will not open to the public in July, for the first time in nearly 30 years.

The government's bungled messaging led to Thursday's front pages, just in time for the VE Day weekend. It's hardly surprising if a lot of people thought "If lockdown is due to end on Monday, what difference will a few days make?". Those front pages could almost have been designed to create Friday's madness. As it is, I suspect the government will now use that as their excuse for making very few changes today.

Meanwhile, the orange thing shows he is determined not to let Johnson in with even the slightest chance of being the most useless leader of a Western democracy. After Mike Pence's press secretary tested positive, his response was "She tested good for a long period of time, and then all of s sudden she tested positive. This is why the whole concept of tests is not necessarily great. Today, I guess, for some reason she tested positive".

Next we can expect him to wonder why a woman he knew kept having negative pregnancy tests and then, all of a sudden, one test said she was pregnant.

I don’t see how this is surprising. So she’s not doing what she normally does, there’s a pandemic. She and her husband are technically vulnerable citizens (he is 99 next month) and should want to set an example. I mean, it’s the smallest sacrifice they could be making really.
