So in Wales pubs and restaurants must close at 6 and not sell alcohol at all for two weeks. Cinemas, bowling alleys and museums must also close.

Yes, agree, so long as staff aren't forced to work overtime or night-time.

Prob won’t affect the shops likely to do this as it’ll be the big corporate stores anyway!

Yes it'll probably only be Asda and Tesco.

The rest might not see the point of 24hr opening!

No it wouldn't be worth the heating and lighting and wages to get just a handful of customers at 3am. :P

I'm glad there's news about a vaccine but...I am slightly concerned about the suggestions that you'll be unable to travel/attend venues and events without having taken it.

Gove has denied that this will happen. Of course, this is the same Gove as the one who said the wearing of masks would be made compulsory in shops about two days before that rule was announced.

For as long as most people haven't been vaccinated simply because they haven't got to the front of the queue, it will be difficult to ban unvaccinated people from certain premises. That would just make people near the back of the queue more impatient. OTOH, excluding people who have actively chosen not to have the vaccine does at least have some logic to it.

The Government won't make it mandatory, but certain companies might. I'm not against it - as long as they do it once EVERYONE has the opportunity to be vacinnated. If they start doing it in March, there will be absolute carnage. Simply not fair otherwise.

I suspect what you might find in the shorter term at least, is it is countries etc. that will only let you in unless you have the vaccine.

That seems quite likely. After all, countries have been doing the same for diseases such as yellow fever for decades.

Anyone want a substantial meal? Here, have a Scotch egg lol. According to Aluk Sharma, the Business Secretary, it's a substantial meal. It's a snack to me but suppose with chips and or veg it could be called that.
Don’t think I’ve ever seen Scotch Egg on a menu in my life lol!

Absolutely saw my arse today. We have new rules about mandatory face coverings at school. Students who persistently refuse to wear one face detentions and exclusions unless they have an exemption. There is an autistic boy who does not wear one in my year group. I have stated to staff that he does not wear one. So why the f*** did a member of staff not only question him but issue a detention? And then why I highlight the exemption, demand to see medical evidence? You don’t even have to show medical evidence in shops, etc.

This is a boy who went into a fit on the transition day the moment his mum left his side. The boy who has to go to the canteen early because crowds overwhelm him causing him not to eat. I am so angry that a member of staff would question this and can’t believe that the word of the Head of Year isn’t good enough.

It’s jobsworths like this that give teachers a bad name.

I would fully support any business or institution that barred the unvaccinated starting from 2022/Q4-21.*

If you chose not to participate in your societal duty of vaccinations to obtain heard immunity for the immunocompromised then you don’t deserve the benefits of society until you stop being a c**t. Einfach.

*those with government issued photographic holograph ids confirming medical exemption would of course be allowed entry too

New restrictions in England have passed, but notably it's claimed that up to 56 Tory MPs voted against the party, which is quite a sizeable number. Those rebels could cause mischief going forward.
