I really like it! Sounds beautiful and very different.
I like this on first listen. Not at all what I was expecting from them and, not being a close follower of the band, I hadn't realised that he could sing like that
I wasn't sure of this at first after the intro but as it ended, I found myself really appreciating the power and somber, low-key vocal style. It's very subtly beautiful and unlike anything I've heard from them before. I honestly quite admire how they are constantly defying what people expect from them.
Debuted at Number 1 on Spotify today

For those of us that don’t understand streaming at all, what does that mean in terms of chart placing?

Given it's also top 20 on Apple, it bodes well for chart placing. However the fact its a midweek release will work against it heavily this week so it matters a lot how well it holds up from now on.

Predictably I *love* the strings and orchestral arrangements in this, so lush and warm but also quite nostalgic, there is a definite nod to Richard Hawley there and I love them for doing that. They need to do a Bond theme at some point!

Mirrorball reminds me of the 80s band ABC with its production and style of track.

It's a nice track and certainly not what I was expecting from them, more Radio 2 sounding than Radio 1.

Mirrorball climbing again on Spotify today! It's pissing it down with rain where I am and i'm sat listening to it while watching from my window, very atmospheric.
I must admit that I felt underwhelmed on first listen but this has thankfully turned out to be a slow burner, as others have also said. I did hope this would be the case as the exact same happened to me with 'Four Out Of Five' last era. The atmospheric, string-filled, romantic turn is interesting and hopefully the whole record will suit the Autumn/winter months nicely.
It's certainly a different sound. Takes a bit of time getting used to but there's elements I like from it. Interesting track tbh and the strings are nice touch.

This is rather reminiscent of The Last Shadow Puppets or Marc Almond's post year 2000 work.

As a result I think it's quite good but quite dull

If your waiting for ‘Do I Wanna Know’ or ‘Sun Goes Down’ style tracks this isn’t for you but it’s so different I like it!

New songs ‘Body Paint’ and ‘Mr Schwartz’ was premiered live last night! It was a no-phones show so there’s no footage out there though.

Both have had a great reception though, I’ve seen Body Paint compared to ‘Live and Let Die’.
