August 20, 20213 yr Hurricane Silky was an absolute mess but completely undeniable — that Barbie Girl lip sync is going to be iconic.
August 20, 20213 yr I'm glad that Barbie Girl (and some of the other Silky lip syncs tbf) made the entire build-up and sitting through game within a game worth it in the end, because it's going to feel quite pointless again when we're just back with the same top 5 (as much as Eureka did win that last lip sync, I'll be pissed if they give it to Silky just for the story or based on the other lip syncs)

August 20, 20213 yr i honestly think they have to bring both of them back? eureka won the lipsync but silky was not far off her and the episode was HERS. i mean they will send her back home straight away but it honestly doesn’t matter lol. also felt like jan won her lipsync the poor thing but by that point the silky arch was too good and they were never gonna send her home. the riggery of silkys guitar jus sitting on the stage even before she walked on tho!!

August 20, 20213 yr Author To be honest I was shook that none of the queens but Silky thought to prepare for the lipsync, knowing they were on AllStars and that Ru's personal taste runs to gags and props and gimmicks. As soon as Silky did Barbie Girl she was guaranteed to win every one from there on no matter how she actually performed imo.
August 20, 20213 yr I don’t think any of the lip syncs were among the best of the series tbh… Miss You Much, Physical, Phone are all way better. However, I do agree that Silky won most of them fairly and that she had a great great episode, she was so funny with her quips. I do think the last one was her weakest and Eureka won it with pure emotion, and I do agree Serena won hers - in fact I think that was the biggest robbery of the episode!

August 20, 20213 yr I think people are doing a bit too much saying it's the best lipsync ever and it was so iconic when it was heavily reliant on props! People always say "best ever" and "iconic" so frequently to the point it loses all meaning :lol: Don't get me wrong, I enjoyed her lip syncs and thought they were entertaining but I thought Jan won against her and Eureka too and felt she had a unfair advantage over them both due to having more time to prepare etc / bring props and stunts which doesn't necessarily mean a better lip sync. It's a shame we can't criticise it fairly and say we thought certain queens did better without sarcastic comments or judgement but I guess that's the fanbase these days.

If people don't like all the stunts, fair enough, it's not my preferred lipsync style (like I said, Eureka bringing the pure emotion did it for me over anything else this season), but there's a difference between saying that and trying to discredit Silky by acting like she had an advantage when it's clear she didn't from what has been said.

Yeah I don't get how Silky had an advantage. She just prepared and went for the lip syncs - and really its to return to the competition, so you'd expect each of them to push it and prepare things, or reveals. August 21, 20213 yr I'm not trying to discredit her at all! And I wasn't talking about critiquing on here, moreso on Twitter people are doing the MOST. I think she did good but I don't think she won against Jan or Eureka, and I don't hold her Barbie Girl lip sync as one of the best ever like others do. For people to say it's discrediting or racist is way too much.
August 21, 20213 yr What I don't get is that these lip-syncs all happened as each queen was sent home, assuming they had a small amount of time to get into drag and get onto the stage. You're not telling me Silky just so happened to bring with her a half-and-half costume for a potential Barbie Girl lip-sync that she totally didn't know would be happening...? She really did do well in some of the lip-syncs she won and it's good to see her getting that redemption, but come on.
