Not necessarily - if it's credited to Elton John & Ed Sheeran instead of the other way round (I don't think we know which way around it is yet but it was apparently Elton's idea so that wouldn't be surprising) it'll presumably only count to Elton's 3 songs.

 

It'll be back in the new year either way of course, unless he has another song blow up more.

Did Radio 1 just play the original version of the Amaarae song? It must be getting like 90+% of its chart sales from the remix with Kali Uchis, I really think this is a case where the OCC should be crediting her. It's not like they never credit added artists on remixes (they did for Lil Durk on Coi Leray's 'No More Parties' for example).

 

The global Spotify streams for the remix are already at 22.2 million, more than 4x the total of the original (5.40 million) despite being available for under 2 months compared to the original being out for a year.

I really don't understand what the market is for acoustic versions of dance songs, they seem to exist for pretty much every big dance hit of late so I guess some people must be demanding them but... most of these songs are soulless and bland enough as they are, who wants to hear a version that rips out all of the energy :lol:

I think they are released so they can be tacked onto a streaming playlist like Ultimate Chill Out or something to squeeze a few more chart sales - nobody actually wants or asks for these versions but it opens them up to being added to different genres streaming playlists.

It begins- Michael Buble- Christsmas at 94 on the album charts, and with the album getting reissued, that could be even bigger then in previous years

I'm surprised to see Amaarae enter the Top 40. I first heard of her when Spectrum Pulse reviewed her album last year. I have yet to hear the song though.
