Any idea if "Kiss Me It's Christmas" by Leona is still top 100? I hope so, but I expect it's fallen out.

It was higher than Britney in the Monday mids and she is still in the top 100 so I would assume so?

Weird that Amazon data seems to suddenly be lagging in the later midweeks the last couple of weeks.

Oh, oops :kink:

Is there any particular reason that was more frontloaded during this week then?

"Kiss Me It's Christmas" is no longer in the top 200 on Apple Music (Britney is top 100) and it plummeted down to #406 on Amazon (can't find Britney on Amazon). Even with Britney being on ACR, I think she would've been out-streaming it.

Edit: It managed to climb to 90 on Amazon and ~130 on Apple Music on Sunday. Then it just dropped quite quickly as the week went on. It's not getting much radio play either. I'm hoping BBC Radio 2 playlist it this week (Edit2: Just seen their new playlist and it's B-listed!). Perhaps it'll climb more this Sunday to make a big enough lead to keep it top 100 for next week.

....for JLS albums.

Yeh the only ones getting passive sales are likely are Abba, Ed and Adele!

No 'Kiss Me It's Christmas' has indeed fallen out!

That's a shame. I'm hoping the fact it's on SCR will help it if it's playlist support picks up a little.

Where’s the new playlist?

Nice to see some upward movement for 2 non Christmas songs even if one is D Bloody Block Europe. Wonder if it's Ed (Overpass) or Arrdee now staying top 10? Not asking btw, exciting to hearthe reveal tomorrow.

Given how well Overseas is holding up so far they could still get a new peak post-Christmas.

(And Buzzjack did cheer... :P)

I suspect that Merry Christmas will be a “fake” #1 for now even with the CD boost as Wham! would take it on SCR, though could be quite close actually.

Getting to No.1 with a newly released Christmas song has got to be massively rare, apart from the Amazon assisted River the last must have been Stay Another Day in 1994 (which is debatable anyway) and before that Saviour's Day? No doubt I'm missing loads.

Obviously in the interim we've had songs that get played around Christmas like 2 Become 1, Heartbeat, The Millennium Prayer, I Have A Dream, Somethin' Stupid, The Power of Love, Somewhere Only We Know, Perfect etc, but other than Alexa's River we've not had a true new release (not Mariah and Wham!) Christmas themed No.1 in a long time surely?

Can’t work out if you’re purposely excluding Band Aid 20 and 30 or not. Does “newly released” mean a new song or new release? Although of course River was the latter.

Sorry of course, no I left them out by mistake, I knew I'd forgotten something glaringly obvious.

I just meant a new release, so River counts but Band Aid 30 was last before that, so not that long ago at all.

Still for Ed/Elton to do so with an original composition/new song at least makes it the first in nearly 30 years, slightly more if you don't count Stay Another Day.

love how you refer to River as Alexa's River :D hahaha genius :)
