Liam Gallagher has dropped the price of the single to 59p on iTunes. I'm pretty out of touch with iTunes, do people still regularly do this? And does it have much of an effect?

 

Happens all the time - there are times when the majority of the Top 20 are 59p.

 

It certainly helps, especially if an artist highlights the price reduction on their socials

I'm guessing it's the difference which button they press - if they just search for the single track and click on the buy button next to it or if they go to the single page and click the buy button on the left side. A funny little quirk I'd assume.
