If the sales between ATF and BOTA isn’t that much, I can see BOTA snatching #1 by Friday
Didn’t expect to see ‘My G’ as high as that, great to see! Honestly when I first seen the title I thought oh god, what are you doing on a track like this Ed, but it’s really lovely! Easily Aitch’s best track to date and Ed fits on it so well, great song
No first look next Sunday due to Reading and Leeds and as its a Bank Holiday weekend, I assume we won't get the midweek chart until Tuesday.

Oh that's actually convenient - I'm not around next Sunday

BOTA is giving me 90s dance vibes so I’d rather that snatched #1. I hope someone starts a campaign on twitter to get it to #1 like they did last year for body ody

Def has 90s dance vibes but it reminds of some song that I can't put my finger on, first I thought livin joy but it's not that.

It samples Lisa Lisa & Cult Jam's Let The Beat Hit 'Em (Master Mix).

Really hope Eliza Rose gets it this week. Very subtle and understated track. Would it be the first ever female DJ to get a no.1 single?

Sonique was the first I think, and so Eliza Rose would be the second?

I don't know that song well so it will forever remind me of 2001 top 20 hit Happiness by Sound DeZign - which is still quite popular on local dance radio shows where I am!

When Joseph Retire Chart host hope Conorw take over

aawh thnk you lol. Joseph isn't going anywhere for a long time though and i'm definitely nowhere near as amazing as he is!

Oh of course although I always think of Sonique more as a singer. But yep of course DJ too.

Alice Deejay was a couple of male producers, fronted by singer Judith Pronk (who many people believe is 'Alice Deejay' due to the female sounding artist name) and a couple of other female dancers, which changed over the years. But Judith had nothing to do with the production on any of the records so wouldn't count alongside Sonique and Eliza Rose.

Also, Alice Deejay never had a No.1 record, sadly.

WAT WAT WAAAAT!!!

SHE SHOULDA BEEN THE DJ AND HOW DID IT NOT REACH NO.1?! BETTER OFF ALONE AND THAT OTHER ONE WERE CLASSIC EUPHORIC 2000S HOUSE BOPS!

Better Off Alone ROBBED.

It was robbed because it appeared on the compilation NOW 43 which was released on the exact same day. The songs appearance on NOW 43 didn’t help. Back in 1999, compilations were big sellers and people wouldn’t wanna buy a song if they’re buying a compilation which it’s already on as they don’t wanna take up space in their CD collection. I reckon it could’ve gone #1 had it not appeared on NOW 43

It didn't help that the CD single which was most widely available didn't have the radio edit on it - which is the version that appeared on Now 43.

Alex Party is another act which I originally thought was the name of the female singer.

You'll probably be delighted to know Westlife kept 'Better Off Alone' from reaching #1 by something like 200 copies. :arrr:

Yeah it actually sold incredibly well considering the radio edit wasn't on the CD single! I specifically bought Now 43 in fact to get the radio edit of the song.

The cassette single had the 'UK Short Cut', which cut off the majority of the build up before the vocal starts, I wasn't very keen on that edit.

It went 4-3-2-2-2 in its first five weeks and increased sales along the way for the first few of those which was very unusual back then, so it's a real shame it missed No.1 to a few different songs, but it was closest to Westlife, who beat it by 450 or so copies :(
