England played really well, unfortunately you can take the man out Spurs, but you can't take the Spurs out of the man!

Lots to be proud of, loads of great players at a good age and coming through. Disappointing to go out when we actually played really well for once. I thought France were pretty bang average, England didn't create much bit neither did France. Another day England get the luck and win that game very comfortably.

Aww, that's a shame but can't complain about losing to the world champions, and why would you want to win a world cup in Qatar anyway :kink:

That said, Morocco to knock out France please x

I mean, I can always feel bad for the team, they seem like good lads and play well.

But thank God it’s not ‘coming home’. England as a nation simply does not deserve it and would be completely unbearable if so.

I’ve caught the end of the last two Morocco games when at my parents house and I’ve been rooting for them to go all the way, though I won’t be watching any of it unless it’s on wherever I am.

The game was very open and that suited France I think , maybe if England had played more defensively they could have got a better result.
England were the better team in the match but it just wasn't meant to be. Now it's either going to be a 3rd World Cup title or a 1st ever World Cup title for someone. I really hope Morocco do it but I'll still go for my pre tournament pick Argentina.

Very latest odds.

France 11/10

Argentina 8/5

Croatia 15/2

Morocco 12/1

Can’t say I didn’t enjoy that one…

The commentators are so biased, referring to ‘us’ all the time, I really can’t stand them

I didn’t even think the ref was that bad, just cause all his decisions were against England

He was dreadful. That's not an excuse at all, but he let so many things go, most of which were clear fouls. The Kane one (which I didn't feel was a penalty, but it was a foul and a booking) in the 1st half was criminal.

The potential England penalty in the first half was a clear foul. Even if we accept that it was outside the box, it was a foul missed by the referee. The second England penalty was also pretty clear. A referee in a World Cup quarter-final shouldn't get decisions like that wrong.

Yeah this one was a clear foul but for me…contact was outside the box (just). Then the commentators kept banging on about how it’s a clear penalty, it wasn’t because if it was, VAR would have gave it.

Initial contact was outside the box, but continued out of the box. VAR wouldn't give a pen for it, but if the ref gave a pen, VAR wouldn't overturn it. Should have been a free kick which was missed by the ref. Upamecano in a yellow card, means he can't make certain tackles - same as Griezmann, another game he easily gets two yellows and can't put that ball in the box. But that's football for you.

I haven't watched any of the World Cup this year I've no interest with FIFA behaving like homophobic assholes tbh...

But I will say how lovely it is to see the wonderful Xenophobia that always rises it head when there is a tournament with England in it. Especially when it comes from people who are the first to shout loudly about racism, homophobia, sexism, cultural appropriation and so on.

A small crowd of morons does not represent a whole country, and The Sun newspaper is the trashiest rag that only has the use of being toilet paper and again does not represent a whole country. I really feel like if you have nothing nice to say then...

Ignore the scottish nationalists, they got to get their thrills somewhere.

You realise doing those things is not a bad thing?

And I don’t get why being relieved about not having to deal with an England win (after years of hearing about 1966 and two world wars over and over) is counted as xenophobia.

The refereeing was awful, and I'm not just being biased as an England fan. I wonder if referees get reviewed on their performance afterwards? They really should.

Maybe the Sun newspaper was right with its Paris billboard, and it is coming home - TO FRANCE!!!

At least one place it won't be coming home to is Scotland!

Argentina for the win please now.

I think it’s understandable that when you say England as a nation doesn’t deserve it that some English people may not appreciate your view, surely you can’t be surprised?
