March 26, 20232 yr Sorry I had a hell week regarding work and had no time/energy to vote. Don't know how I managed to vote when I had an equally hellish week in December. I'll be voting in the final and I've not even heard the semi final songs so will be interested to see if my votes would have changed who Q'd. I'll listen to the DNQs to find out. Hopefully it would have made no difference.
March 26, 20232 yr Wohooo! I qualified! That's so awesome! :cheer: But I'm really sad about Jupiterdonia, that was my favorite :( Oh, and I really liked Land of Jack as well. What a shame, but thank you for that discovery!
March 26, 20232 yr Ahhh another DNQ… 12 Q 10 Q 8 Q 7 Eastovka 6 Land of DW 5 Q 4 Q 3 Danaeviia 2 Freedonia 1 Q
March 26, 20232 yr Thanks for the literary adventures Chez, very enjoyable! I knew I'd struggle getting through this semi, but 3rd from last? :( On the bright side, 9/10 of my votes qualified, just lost Eastovka which was also a bit of a surprise </3
March 26, 20232 yr Thanks for the creative hosting Chez, and thanks voters for Information Society it's been decades since Singerpurear got to 2 finals in a row  Sadly we lost: Sovarasma Jupiterdonia OSLOL Suedonia Skall and Land Of Jack just missed out on points. Half our faves have gone... :o
March 26, 20232 yr The Semi 1 results were NOT it, it's made me surprised that I made it given that other strong pop and dance didn't. 08 Oslol 06 Sovarasma 03 Jupiterdonia 02 East Rukahavian Beaverdonia and Land Of Jack were also my 11th and 13th (I had a cut down list of 13 songs after listening) so definitely a shame to see 6 strong songs dip out, in what I considered to be quite a poor semi  Counting my lucky stars! LOOOOVED this concept though, Chez, so creative and most importantly, so YOU and I love when people put their interpreted stamp on the contest, as everyone this year has so far.
March 27, 20232 yr I really enjoyed the concept to this contest - thanks for the effort that you put in Chez! Sadly I lost Skall, Aelandor and Beaverdonia from my vote. However my Top 5 all made it through and I'm especially pleased to see Neliönoir in the final, they have done what I failed to do and have taken Charlotte Adigéry through to a final. I'm still surprised that “High Lights” failed to connect when I sent it back in 2019, but I really enjoy “Thank You” which shares many of her same witty and cutting lyrics. I just love the whole feel of the track and how it executes its main target of misogyny; again similar to the kind of themes that Self Esteem brought out on her 2021 LP Prioritise Pleasure. The whole album it is taken from is great too, especially “Ceci n'est pas un cliché” which made my T40 of 2022! "Persephonia found a Panda in his pantry, he fed it peaches and pears and it taught him how to become a professional to play the piano." BRÉthony SLAYtano. *.* My favourite entry of yours for some time! Trans....ition. "Cumulonimbia was a Cowboy who one day lassoed a Cloud. It was enough to bless the Camels in Cairo with long-awaited rain." Good luck, Kerth! This will probably be your winner :o I fully endorse this! Kath to win please x
March 27, 20232 yr I loved reading through this thread — so well done. I'm shocked to have qualified but of course, pleasantly surprised. I decided 'Thank You' was probably the most accessible and representative of the album without losing the wit and sarcasm that Charlotte does so well. The entire record is fantastic, it was hard to choose one. However my Top 5 all made it through and I'm especially pleased to see Neliönoir in the final, they have done what I failed to do and have taken Charlotte Adigéry through to a final. March 27, 20232 yr I had HAHA on my potentials list and was planning to send it to the next UP contest but no chance now considering how well known on here she apparently is. (Have zero memory of her 2019 entry).
