Updating incoming. Just wanted mention that the sales for Ellie's album mentioned yesterday were fake - it's on 9,768 today.
Perhaps the figures quoted yesterday were for the single and not the album and Rough edges source got things mixed up?

I hope Miley and Drake can prevent Harry from returning to the top 5. And boo at Anti-Hero climbing into the top 15 despite being on ACR

I’m expecting Rema to overtake Ed as the former seems to be way ahead on streaming. If not this week, then the week after
Ellies album sales much lower than I was expecting.

Really? Her last album opened with ~15k and that was with 3 top 40 hits and 2 other songs going top 100 before release. This time round she's had 0 songs chart in the top 100, let alone top 40. It looks like she'll do over ~12k+ which is great considering the circumstances. "Miracle" is a standalone track that isn't attached to the album. It's a shame none of the songs from the album have caught on, as I quite like a few of them!

Will this be the first time that bro country has invaded the UK top 40?

Florida Georgia Line had a couple top 40 hits with "Meant To Be" & "Let Me Go", although I wouldn't consider the latter bro country. "One Too Many" by Keith Urban & P!nk also went top 40.

I’m guessing Zara will go to #26 as Baby Don’t Hurt Me and Forget Me will overtake especially with the former probably going to back top 10!
Ahhhhh now that is definitely much more like what I was expecting for Ellie. Although it's a shame for her fans that they were given a false number at first

Yeah, but those crazy amounts of formats she'd been pedalling + the signings etc, which she didn't have for Brightest Blue. Plus it's probably fair to say interest in her was about as low as it is now by the time it finally came out.

So not really then! Bro country is a style of lyricism/sound, not just any country song made by a dude.

Florida Georgia Line are the epitome of bro country. Granted "Meant To Be" is borderline. "One Too Many" I would say is for sure.

If Ed Sheeran could find a couple hundred or so CDs down the back of the sofa, he could go back up to No.2!!

Ellie has a decent sized loyal fanbase who will buy many many physicals.

Well that was a lie.

I disagree with you on 'One Too Many'. If you're basing it on lyrics sure (that's still a stretch), but sonically it is not.

I just thought with her doing more multi formats etc that it may have resulted in her easily beating the opening of her last album.
