October 19, 20231 yr Sponsored ad for this popping up on Grindr of all places. Now that really is knowing your audience, grab those last minute sales! I noticed this today  I was weirdly listening to it at the time as well.
October 19, 20231 yr It's a great album, though it's not as good as the other two (or In a Dream) for me yet. What's the Time Where You Are? and Honey are big faves and I swear he's put crack in One of Your Girls, I can't get enough right now!!
October 20, 20231 yr bizarrely Got me Started and not One of Your Girls added to R1's playlist today :o
October 20, 20231 yr I assume the label weren't anticipating One of Your Girls taking off like this so Got Me Started is still the current single. One of Your Girls will have its moment before long I'm sure.
October 20, 20231 yr Not a Troye fan (simply because none of his other stuff has hit my radar) but I’m obsessed with OOYG - sounds like it would sit right at home on a Harry Styles album too, rinsing and repeating at the moment.
October 20, 20231 yr Great result for the album in the UK and a great album by Troye. I think he’s also showing that a music video can still be effective promotion in 2023, all 3 videos have created buzz online.
October 20, 20231 yr One of your girls has really clicked, I am now obsessed! Nothing else on the album is doing much for me though. Glad ooyg looks to be the biggest hit!
October 21, 20231 yr One Of Your Girls is becoming my song of the year! It has Daft Punk/The Weeknd vibes to me and I love it.
October 21, 20231 yr It's my favourite Troye single for a very long time too, love the Daft Punk vibe. Rush and Got Me Started plus this now are such a killer way to kick off the campaign, three extremely good pop songs. I haven't got into the rest of the album yet though, sadly.
October 21, 20231 yr 'One Of Your Girls' is really hitting the spot for me as well <3 can see why 'Nightcall' has been used as a comparison as the chorus effect is like a more palatable version of that, so dreamy. Unfortunately agree that the album on the whole is underwhelming, though. I've been following Troye's music since 2014 ('Happy Little Pill' is nearly 10 years old now??? ugh) and this is the most disappointed I've felt by one of his projects overall in that time, but do admire the direction of the visuals and will happily take away 'Rush' and 'One Of Your Girls' at a minimum.
October 22, 20231 yr Can y’all stop sleeping on ‘Honey’ please and thank you xx Ikr!! Honey is defo one of the best things he’s ever done
October 22, 20231 yr watching old interviews on YT he doesn't seem like a fan of his debut album and says he might perform 1/2 live but he's never do Youth again live for instance :/ I always find his albums very uneven, good thing is they are always cohesive in sound and always at least 1/2 great songs but always also lot of filler and even songs that shouldn't have been included
October 22, 20231 yr It's my favourite Troye single for a very long time too, love the Daft Punk vibe. Interestingly I played my friend the song last night and we both established it sounds very like Daft Punk's 'Something About Us' with the vocoder effect!
October 22, 20231 yr My rank of the album: 1 One of Your Girls 2 Rush 3 What's the Time Where You Are? 4 Honey 5 Got Me Started 6 Silly 7 How to Stay With You 8 Can't Go Back, Baby 9 Still Got It 10 In My Room Bottom few blend into one slightly especially as they're one after the other in the tracklist. Top 4 in particular are glorious though
October 24, 20231 yr Author I'm surprised that this didn't do quite enough to make the Billboard Hot 100 this week? @1716672418985505240
October 25, 20231 yr Author So the album is a home run for me! I think it's a very accomplished body of work. It's probably his boldest and most confident album so far. I've listened to it enough times to be fairly confident about my rank... 1. Got Me Started 2. Rush 3. One of Your Girls 4. Honey 5. What's the Time Where You Are? 6. Can't Go Back 7. How to Stay with You 8. Silly 9. Still Got It 10. In My Room My brief comments about the album tracks... There's really no misses for me. Even my least favourite, In My Room, is a track I find to be very interesting and listenable. I feel like it has Ariana album track vibes, Positions era-esque perhaps, with that kind of that laid-back but sensual vibe. Still Got It feels the most in line with his previous projects - so it's right up my street. The fact I have it placed second to last feels harsh! Silly is very Janet Jackson coded! A sexy, whispery bop. :music: How to Stay with You... apparently I have a thing for saxophone usage in songs, I love it in Kylie's 'Green Light' and here on 'How to Stay with You'! This song is a great closer... it's quite wistful. Can't Go Back really pulls at the heart strings. It's a really sad song, but with a feeling of hope and resilience. Lyrically this song has absolutely nothing to do with something difficult I'm currently going through, but still, the mood of the song has connected with me and I find it quite soothing sounding. What's the Time Where You Are? Bop, I don't think there's much more to say. What the fuuuuuuuuck :music: Honey is a triumph! I'm not sure if it's obvious as a single or not, but as an album track it's certainly a gem.
