November 15, 20232 yr I don't think Dua's fanbase is as crazy easily led to buy stuff as, let's say Kylie's or Taylor's. Her biggest sales week on album chart is 35k so 5k of physical singles is a lot in comparison. And Houdini isn't an established hit yet.

Dance The Night did 3k CD's and 3.7k cassettes iirc...I think she can do 9k-10k and she's been posting about it on her social every day!!!

November 15, 20232 yr That does seem like surprisingly low physical sales for Dua hmm (unless they are just leaving a large chunk of them to only count at the very end of the week for some reason, but if that were the case I'm not sure why they've counted 1k of them already rather than just adding them all at the end of the week?) - I know 'Dance The Night' didn't do crazy physical numbers but they were still a fair bit better than this, and the physicals have been better priced from the start this time. Happy to see The Beatles still #1 in the albums for now, really hoping they'll still hang on.

In the streaming era it's mostly passive Spotify playlists on repeat from shops and other places, where you can hear them. In last 10 years we got only 1 fresh Christmas hit (from Elton and Ed).
