January 5, 20242 yr It doesn’t look like liquor and cigarettes got the reset as expected for Chase and Status. Selecta is at #76 but Liquor and Cigarettes isn’t even top 100. Baddadan at #43 which I assume is still on ACR. So they didn’t get either song reset?
January 5, 20242 yr Oh no at 'Move Your Feet' being ruined :(How can one of the worst "songs" of all time already, be "ruined"????????? 23 | 98 | 9th week Kanye West featuring Pusha T Runaway 2nd single from My Beautiful Dark Twisted Fantasy Released: 4th October 2010 Label: UMG Recordings Chart Statistics NE (27/11/2010) | 56-56-x RE (30/11/2023) | 34-37-53-56-54-98-23Pleased to see his best song actually get a worthwhile, decent peak... however, we seriously need to stop endorsing this man further. :puke:
January 5, 20242 yr How can one of the worst "songs" of all time already, be "ruined"????????? Excuse me?
January 5, 20242 yr Nah, Mr. Blobby would be much better! Or just white noise which would sound better!
January 5, 20242 yr IION? Wouldn't of got reset because it went to acr this week surely ? 10th week with previous 3 weeks of decline ? A song can't go acr and get reset in the same week ?
January 5, 20242 yr IION? Wouldn't of got reset because it went to acr this week surely ? 10th week with previous 3 weeks of decline ? A song can't go acr and get reset in the same week ? Yes it can. It happened to Tyla’s Water a month ago
January 6, 20242 yr 2024 chart shows really getting off to an iconic start with 'Perfect (Exceeder)' re-entering at #40 - I was hoping that would get its reset either this week or next but didn't actually think it would have done enough to be top 40 already even with a reset so that was a nice surprise, hope it can climb a bit next week, what a megabanger  and of course fantastic to see 'Murder On The Dancefloor' zooming straight back to the top 10 and high hopes for it to be top 5 if not top 3 next week! The other biggest chart news for me this week ofc is 'Surround Sound' going top 40, I was paranoid when catching up on the thread that it had ended up being knocked down to #41 by Mason as I definitely didn't expect to see it as high as #35 - I feel like a proud father xx I had a look and I believe this is the first time since Robyn's 'Dancing On My Own' in 2010 that an artist I've sent to BJSC has had a top 40 hit as the lead artist! (And the first one ever who wasn't already an established chart act at the time I sent them lol, I can't claim to have picked J.I.D totally out of obscurity because he did have some fairly significant online buzz and a spot on the then still quite relevant XXL Freshman class at the time but it was before he made any noticeable commercial impact). I've gone on and on about the song for weeks at this point so I'll try and shut up a bit now but one of the best songs of 2022 becoming one of the best top 100 hits of 2023 and now no doubt one of the best top 40 hits of 2024, we absolutely love to see it *.* glad that it seemed to generally go down well on here too, though I still haven't heard Radio 1's edit of it lol, based on asking Joseph about it earlier I gather they do cut out most if not all of the best part of the song for me (the verse after the beat switch). Has been pretty obviously coming for a couple of weeks now but happy to see Noah Kahan securing the #1 and the album also hitting the top 5 for the first time (plus a pretty nice re-entry position for 'Northern Attitude'). Also yay for 'Rich Baby Daddy' still managing to sneak into the top 10 to match the peak of 'Slime You Out' despite being hampered by resets. Most of those resets being pretty pointless as usual in January but I'm not going to complain at Mitski nabbing a few additional weeks in the top 20 and Doja in the top 40! Good new peaks as well for Zara/Guetta, Zach/Kacey (oops me basically calling this being kicked out of the top 15 by a Sophie reset ) and Kanye/Pusha. I don't hate the Paul Russell song yet but I feel like I might do if I listen to it more times so I could kind of do without that becoming a bigger hit :kink: I see Nicki narrowly missing out on having 3 top 40 entries but I don't much like 'FTCU' so not crying about it missing out, the other two entries are both among her best material of late for me though, happy to see 'Everybody' is still the higher of the two for now (and it had not occurred to me that it was on track to be so close to being a new highest peaking song to date for Lil Uzi Vert!!) Also glad 'Entrapreneur' at least made the top 40 still though looks like it might not stick around too long. Hoping that the Teddy Swims track will grow on me but I do think it's decent. 'One Of The Girls' is fairly good if not outstanding (lol at the Troye mixup on the show - I will say that would be a downgrade for me oops ). 'Feather' is probably the best charting Sabrina Carpenter song to date for me so I guess cool at it being her new highest peaker but I'm still not really a fan, maybe it's one I could enjoy as background music if I'm not paying attention but it has too many cringe lyrical moments unforch. Cool for Eliza Rose to escape one hit wonder territory - I really thought LF SYSTEM were more likely to pull it off than her! - but at least from my first listen 'Body Moving' is very mid for me, hope it'll grow too. A bit disappointing that it's not looking like 'Can't Catch Me Now' is still in the mix for a top 10 peak but ah well, a cute top 20 is ok for a soundtrack song and hardly her most commercial sounding. 'exes' also not yet asserting itself as as much of a new year smash as some predicted but I think it could still gain more momentum. Right I think that's all the songs I wanted to comment on amongst the chaos... well aside from 'Mr. Brightside' finally getting its 7th week top 40 of course *.* I was surprised to see Lewis getting the #1 album after all but I see he is #1 on the physical albums chart so yeah I guess he did have his £5 CDs count a week early, fair enough.
