Ah have they done a cassette now too? I only saw the vinyl and CD originally - love that they are going for it!

Not that I can find, it’s just the CD and vinyl on her official store and RecordStore

Justin is coming for that dreaded #41 peak, isn't he?

I think he’ll be lucky to get to even #41 at this rate :nocheer:

I must admit, I'm amazed at Justin's low charting. I wasn't expecting a Taylor Swift style debut, but was thinking he'd do top 20 at least.

Also, safe to say Ariana's chances of UK #1 gone?

Depends if the songs in front of her hit ACR

Aah yes, that's a good point! For an oldie like me, this whole ACR thing is so confusing (still)!

She’d have to get insanely lucky with 6 or 7 songs somehow going to ACR basically simultaneously, unless she gets a big album boost I think, so I’d be very surprised.

In the last few single releases, more than Ariana, I'm quite surprised at how Dua's song has "underperformed" given the label and everyone just presumed a Dua song, good or bad would just go to no1. I've mentioned this before, but I am surprised and mentioning it again

Who is being rude? Anyone can post whatever they like but I don’t see why it’s necessary to compare the chart success of pretty much every other female artist who existed in the 90s to Madonna!

I think telling someone they’re obsessed about something is a bit rude. When they go out of their way to explain why they posted what they did and your respond by telling them no one asked, I find that incredibly rude.

You may not see their point but couldn’t you just be quiet about it without resorting to such comments? I actually found your responses more needless than the initial postings which at the end of the day was just someone posting something they wanted to say and possibly thought others would be interested in.

I really can’t help it if you don’t think you were being rude. I’ve explained my reasoning.

Dua has never debuted at #1, there is literally no precedent for that to happen, so not sure where such an assumption could come from!

I found it pretty uncalled for of them to try and downplay Madonna’s achievements and quite sexist to compare her to every other prominent female artist of the 90s… the conversation (which was unnecessary in the first place) was about Madonna and Kylie, I don’t see why Celine, Mariah, Whitney, Janet etc. had to be brought into it too. I’m a fan of all of those artists and the constant comparisons are tiresome

Fair enough but you could have just said that in the first place and it wouldn’t have seemed rude. This is the last I’ll say on the matter.

Surely it would be more ‘sexist’ to compare her to a load of male artists?
God knows how it is sexist?! Madonna is often called the "Queen of Pop", which is effectively saying "I am better than all other women at pop". If you don't want to be compared to other women in pop, don't claim to be the queen.
