I wonder if it could be for a similar reason to While She Sleeps having sales deducted?

We’ve just heard the news that Self Hell has a shot at being in the top 10 UK album charts, we never expected this as all the records sold through our personal store aren’t chart eligible sales. (We do this because it means we can support local business in Sheffield and make sure our store operates how we want it). But all the sales from traditional record stores do count & there might be enough for us to have a top 10 album!

Sharleen was on Radio 2 on Saturday with Rylan and she said that it wasn't eligible for the chart, but otherwise would have been at #2 in the sales flash she received on Friday night.

Would love to know exactly why that's happened.

Oh how annoying, it’s not something I’m interested in from them but you’d think it’d be able to chart.

Was it released on some sort of offshoot label that's not registered for the chart? iTunes says [PIAS] Le Label.

I bought it from Amazon so I don't see how it's a webstore issue, as surely many haven't bought from the Texas store.

Isnt it out in some EU label? Maybe thats the problem
I wasn't aware of the Texas album, I have now listened to some track previews and it sounds good. But some of the best and biggest hits and songs are not included and that just hacks me off as I'd like to hear them done that way. There's definitely space for them with album track numbers these days. That can't help sales.

It’s really odd for WSS - their store is operated by Townsend (the same as Kylie, Busted etc.,).

The fact they’ve said the sales from their store are not chart eligible so that they can support local stores makes no sense either?

I’m confused about the situation regarding Beyoncé’s physicals.

People are saying the physical is released April 12th but 7.7k of its sales in this update are physicals so what physical is/isn’t available?

She has physicals on her web store that are contributing, but the physicals won’t be in hmv and record stores till 12th April!

This confuses me - While She Sleeps are saying their album sales on their store aren't eligible? Yet Beyonce's album sales through her own store are eligible? However Texas album sales through Itunes aren't elgible?

This all seems a bit strange.

Those other two seem to be strange outliers, so I’d take those with a pinch of salt. Generally, sales from artist stores, and shops like indie record stores or chains like hmv all contribute! Those two seem to be special cases lol

Is £3.99 enough to count as a sale? I seem to remember someone saying anything below £3.50 doesn’t count as a chart sale but I might be mistaken

all artist online shops count but they have to register with the OCC

of course if you don't register, then your sales don't count, like this Sleeps band, think it also happened before with some big band, Marillion or something

the price thing is very complicated cos the minimum price doesn't refer to how much the shop is selling the product for

but to the dealer price, so how much the shop paid for it

so if a shop got a CD for 10 pounds but sells it for 1 pound, it counts for the charts cos that 1 pound is not the dealer price

BEYONCÉ is the opposite of ariana grande in that one hates capitals whilst the other LOVES THEM AND CAN ONLY USE THEM SINCE 2019.
I yearn for the days of capitals being utilised appropriately.
