I was aboard a boat in Egypt in 2007 and I heard this song, which I was already aware existed, but it really felt like the right song for the atmosphere at the time as I looked out at the sea from the boat trip. It was from a time when Bob Sinclar was a hitmaker and regularly dropping new singles out.

I was already a fan but hearing it on vacation in 2016 is what really made it click!

I remember a holiday trip to Iceland and we didnt have any music in the car a we weren't picking any radio stations and I remember we stopped at a gas station and bought a bunch of CDs including Aveil Lavigne's debut and Evanescence, which we played to death on the trip again and again

Ooh 'Yo Quiero Bailar' would've been perfect for today! I've decided to pick a song that reminds me of my most recent holiday since I've already covered childhood ones. I heard this song in Fuerteventura last year - I was quite familiar with 'Sofia' as it won BJSC, but hadn't heard it in years so this was a great reminder of its existence!

Back when I haven't joined Buzzjack and known the song was also sent to the BJSC, this song has already been associating with my middle school / high school life. Hearing this reminds me of our school trip in Bali.

I really haven't been on much vacations In my life but the most memorable was being in Northern England during the Summer of 2022. For some reason, I kept hearing this fantastic 2018 single from The 1975 absolutely everywhere :lol:

A song that reminds me of a vacation: Enya - Only Time

Still possibly the best holiday of my life was New York for Christmas and New Year in 2010. It snowed extremely heavily on Christmas Eve and it was a winter wonderland for the whole week. For some reason this version rather than the Jay Z version particularly reminds me of it. :heart:

Reminds me of the last summer holiday I ever had with my family, to the Isle of Wight in 2007.

April 1st: Not a favourite day of the week but a cracking song that never gets old.

 

April 2nd: This was rumoured to be the lead single yet never got released. JT on backing vocals also.

 

April 3rd: the summer of 2002 stands out for me and this song was everywhere. (Me and jimwatts have the same minds lol didn’t see that posted above)

April 6th: I discovered this in a bar when I visited Amsterdam in 2012. Such a hidden gem.

Hmm had to think about song to remind me of vacation for a minute but of course this comes to mind from Butlins in 2001 where me and my sister did one of those music videos in one of those rooms where you took the tape home lol. It's a bop anyway of course but it was either them or Steps 'Stomp' which also reminds me of my visit to Butlins for some reason haha but that was more for the car journey and having it on the radio!

Takes me right back to 2018 and my first ever trip to a Disneyland. Genuinely one of my favourite Summers I've ever had and this version of the song is played during their fireworks display right at the climax. It makes me quite emotional listening to it and it just makes me want to go back there, so bad.

I always remember playing this one in Anglesey many a year ago (in fact I think my dad orignally bought the album there), the lyrics are... interesting but it brings back memories which was the brief!
