Feeder will sell next to nothing between now and Friday. I think they'll end up on about 6k, wonder if either Vampire Weekend or Black Keys will overtake (I'm certain J Cole, The Weeknd and probably 1 or 2 others will).

Feeder have a few store signings at HMV this week, which will help them a little.

Haven’t heard any of the rumours nor do I care as everyone gets cancelled nowadays for any mistake they make!

Bit more than 'a mistake' on this one but you do you.

Nice to see Bob Vylan doing well. Just be recommended them and ace band. :music: Their last one made no.18 so hope career best.
Very good sales for The K's, but I can't see it being another to beat The Libertines. I imagine they'll be #2 though.

Every time I see 'The K's' on Buzzjack I think its The K**ts again

I wasn’t expecting the Libertines to nearly be crossing 20k. I was expecting Beyoncé to get a second week at the top as her previous album did that, even beating Eminem to #1

The Ks are signing at their pop up shop from 10-5 tomorrow and have released 6 different CDs for £5 and have 4 pop up exclusive vinyl.

Can’t see them making up a 9k deficit but should have strong sales at #2.

And then out of the top 200 the following week :cheer:

I didn't expect Vampire Weekend to be contending with The Libertines but it is very disappointing that they look like they might miss the top 10 entirely after their last three albums all made the top 3 and I've seen nothing but praise for this album, I would have thought it'd be top 5 pretty easily. I guess the last album being less well received then their usual output didn't help (although describing it as 'abysmal' seems a bit dramatic, it's their lowest scoring album to date on RateYourMusic and Album of the Year but still has fairly positive scores on both) but it's quite a dramatic drop even so. There isn't any issue with physical availability or anything?

To be fair, I don't think Steve is aware of what the allegations against Ezra are. (Nor was I until I just googled it. Really disappointing if they're true).

Renaissance did "only" 11.6k at #1. CC can do that and maybe even more, just not enough for #1.

It’s really weird – their first week US sales are also 100 000 fewer copies sold then their last one. I think Modern Vampires of the City was such a beloved release (true classic) which led to fervent expectations and pre-orders for Father of the Bride. That album also had Harmony Hall and This Life which both became “indie hits”, while the new album doesn’t. Doesn’t change the fact that Only God Was Above Us is a fantastic record.

As for allegations; no, they’ve been around for a decade or so. Not many people know about them, and even fewer people really care that much.

The big drop off in US sales is also partially because Billboard changed their bundling rules for the chart in 2020-ish. Before then, albums were pretty much free with tour tickets for a lot of artists. So since then, a lot of older rock bands and country artists have had big drops in their chart positions/sales.

what I don't get is how they can be even below this Kruangbin band

who I've never ever heard before and quick google search tells me its some band from Texas but don't seem to be that popular

Just checked at their last album sold 4.5K, VW should be on a higher level of sales but alas...

The singles off Khruangbin's album have been streamed more than those from VW's too, not huge WW numbers but still 8m, 6m, 4m vs 5m, 2m, 2m.

Father of the Bride was overly long and full of absolute dirge, became the third year in a row where a previous massive favourite act of mine released what was comfortably the worst album I listened to that year, following Arcade Fire and Arctic Monkeys

Although they’re definitely helped a lot by being shoved into a lot of Spotify “study” playlists, it’s always a pleasant surprise when they come up randomly.

wow Hozier has a 265K lead today on Benson on Spotify, he's gonna walk it
