June 13, 20241 yr Also, outside of a few music forums and the toxic Twitter/X stans nobody cares what Taylor or any other artist is up to with their release strategy  Fair play to any artist that has an incredible team behind them that can create sales and excitement plus added value for fans across multiple weeks whilst also bolstering physical sales.
June 13, 20241 yr Yeah, after you ✌🏼 Hypocrite, you’re allowed to complain 24/7 but I’m the one who needs to chill out with 1 message today, lol. You've been making these weirdly dramatic over-defensive posts all week ddd
June 13, 20241 yr You've been making these weirdly dramatic over-defensive posts all week ddd Exactly, and that wasn't even the first one today like they so claimed

This is just false though. Read the comments on her own affiliate page from her own fans https://www.instagram.com/reel/C8C2O2rOhwh/...zVrOXI4MGdwOWpx I don’t think exploiting people should be encouraged especially not your own fans. When you have every accolade there is and you’re a billionaire it’s purely greed and it’s not a good look. You can defend it but when the vast majority of the comments on your own sales page are fed up and negative then you’re doing something wrong not right

When you have every accolade there is and you’re a billionaire it’s purely greed and it’s not a good look. You can defend it but when the vast majority of the comments on your own sales page are fed up and negative then you’re doing something wrong not right But who’s she exploiting? She’s released tons of versions and I’ve bought one, countless other people have too. On the Taylor page you linked clicking on a few comments profiles some of them are clearly not TS fans and part of the ‘hate whichever artist is beating their faves’ brigade. Also as I said before artists can release however many variants etc they want but there has to be a market for them, the fact that her signed CDs this week sold out in minutes and there are 100s of comments from people complaining they couldn’t get a copy shows a 6k drop doesn’t meet demand. And I’m saying all of this as someone who is meh about Taylor - I like her music, I don’t own it all, I’ve never seen her live and never seek out her new releases immediately. I don’t get the hysteria and hate - id love my faves to have a fanbase or GP popularity to sell multiple variants too and a team behind them that is on the ball and clearly wants the best position for the album in multiple territories outside of week 1.
June 13, 20241 yr 6 new digital versions of TTPD are available on Taylor’s store for £4.99, so I think she’s got the number one

June 13, 20241 yr Still everyone here hating Taylor even with her NOT doing anything last day unlike the other two You were saying? x I honestly just have to laugh now.
June 13, 20241 yr 6 new digital versions of TTPD are available on Taylor’s store for £4.99, so I think she’s got the number one  Not that she's timing dropping things just to get the sales boost for #1 or anything
June 13, 20241 yr Exploitation or not noone is holding a gun to you head saying you have to buy every single version or even 1 Yes I'm a big Taylot fan , and have stream it loads (not this week though) but I have not bought 1 single physical or digital version  it's a choice people have
June 13, 20241 yr Realistically though with just 5 hours I can’t see digital albums appealing to anybody? It’s also not advertised anywhere except in an email to swifties, she might get 500 that bite but can’t see it being more than that? People are collectors they like to collect, all of her fans will want the new physical not a digital album which is not a collected item? But 500 sales might make the entire difference so this is likely all she needs. I guess they are going for every single number now. Edited June 13, 20241 yr by BellyClarkson
June 13, 20241 yr She should have just farted out 4000 more signed cds as they’d have sold in 4 hours, but not sure if they could ship them in time

Artists can release 100 formats if they wish but the end user still has to part with money if they want said items.
June 13, 20241 yr But who’s she exploiting? She’s released tons of versions and I’ve bought one, countless other people have too. Her fans. She knows a large number of them will collect her music so will purchase all variants etc. I think the main issue is that a lot of variants will have exclusive voice memos, sometimes exclusive bonus tracks and such. Instead of release a deluxe version with everything on it (acoustic versions/bonus tracks/voice memos etc) like most artists do, she's essentially been able to split up each new part of a deluxe edition into its own edition to sell individually. Also those saying that we would kill for our faves to do something like this... No I wouldn't  I want everything all in one place, easily and accessible without having to buy multiple variants to get everything. Additionally, Taylor is the only person on the planet that can do it like this. She's in a league of her own. Leona Lewis or Miley struggle to sell ever 150k albums total (well Leona hasn't released an album in almost 9 years now....), let alone hold back 150k signed copies to release 25k each week - most of which won't sell. I don't hate Taylor for it, it's amazing to see someone with such selling power. My main issue is that it almost monopolises the top of the charts in a way no one else can compete with.

June 13, 20241 yr I was really hoping Charli could do it. What a brilliant pop album. Taylor team still doing the most after all these weeks seriously WTF.

If I do have a problem with anything, it's that I'm really not a fan of the normalised trend of multiple versions or really anything that's put out there to be owned & traded rather than actually played. Not out of elitism (people can do what they want with their property) but because it's the sort of thing that preys on neurodivergent people, or anyone with obsessive-compulsive disorder. As someone who falls under that spectrum myself (mostly manifested in the way I play some video games, but it's okay)*, I see these really expensive physical products shipped out and think that there are gonna be a lot of people who feel the intrinsic need to own all of them, and not all of those people are going to be so wealthy that it's excusable. It's preying on vulnerable people in the same way pokies do, and I don't think enough people are talking about it.
