And the winner is... Girls Aloud!! Receiving 23 votes to Kylie's 22, GA claim victory by the skin of their teeth!! Something Kinda Ooooh was of course released back in '06, peaking at #3 and going on to become one of their longest-charting hits. It was never an essential for me, but it randomly played on Spotify the other day and actually sounded fab! :o Still love IBIY more though. :P Thank you everyone for voting and commenting! Worthy winner or an underwhelming result?

Definitely an underwhelming result. Completely expected but it just isn’t that best song that was in the poll and definitely not as good as I Believe In You. I won’t say more as I imagine everything I have said is enough for the gushers to rush in.
Just rushed in here to gush about this being a fabulous result! A result that wasn't clear cut considering how close it was throughout, but for me was the best song in the poll and therefore better than I Believe in You! :cheeseblock:

Would've preferred 'I Believe In You' myself. 'It's My Life' would've been ideal winner though but yeah there's no stopping GA on here.

My thoughts too. It’s My Life was robbed. :P

Headlines should still not have been last.

Agreed, but we'll always be in the minority there!  I'd say it's a lovely song, but it was very disappointing as a comeback single. Ideally they would have had an uptempo single which gave their 90s releases a run for their money. Nevertheless I'm happy that Headlines exists. Maybe part of its problem is that its production is quite saccharine and sappy sounding. The version they did on tour had a rock tinged feel to it, which I feel elevated the song to sound quite epic.

Looking through the list, I would consider these songs to be career highlights:

Something Kinda Ooooh - It's my favourite Girls Aloud song! I think it's one of the best pop group bangers ever. It certainly set up their Greatest Hits era to be triumphantly successful! Also a chart fact I'll always remember is that this single was the first by a UK artist to reach the Top 5 singles chart purely on download sales!

I Believe in You - I have no idea where I'd rank this in my favourite Kylie songs, honestly I could write a Top 50 and claim that every song was a career highlight! The song felt like a bit of a victory lap at that point in her career. Not sure if it's gone on to be one of her most beloved/remembered hits though, but it certainly did exactly what it needed to do at the time of its release.

Chain Reaction - Yes it's a cover version but I think they certainly put their own stamp on it. For me it's a Steps classic. I particularly love the key changes at the end!

It's My Life - I can't claim that I know every No Doubt single, but of the ones I do know, this ranks highly for me. I wonder what went wrong with its first release? #20 as an original peak was disappointing, and what's more 'The Singles' got off to a weak start too: 46-48-51-55-46-44 (maybe it got a bit swallowed up by Christmas?). In mid-Janury it flew up to #11 all of a sudden - I wonder what prompted that? The album hung around in the Top 10/20 for a while, peaking at #5 at the end of February. That was a week in advance of the It's My Life re-release charting at #17. Even though the single wasn't destined to be a big hit for whatever reason, at least on its second attempt it did good things for the album.

In Demand - Maybe it could be considered to be more subtle than many Texas singles, but I think it's quietly one of their very best... it's quite stunning!

I think I forgot to vote in the final but Something Kinda Ooooh is a fantastic winner, undoubtedly a Girls Aloud classic and one of the most exhilarating pop songs I've ever heard!

Looking through that list of songs and i-

Something Kinda Ooooh the correct result, an undeniable BANGER  I Believe in You, while enjoyable, certainly isn't a song I'd say is among Kylie's best-of-best and certainly no match for Girls Aloud on this occasion.

'Headlines' absolutely SHOULD have been last!

Y'all did 'My Prerogative' dirty! A song so infamously Britney that she made people believe it was her own song and not a cover! Such a great song and probably my favourite in this list! '3' should NOT have finished above it and should have been lower down tbh.

'Something Kinda Ooooh!' is a great winner. Always has been a GA fave for me  I wish 'Easy' was more appreciated though. Such a BOP!

'Something Kinda Ooooh' is a great winner for me *.* banging production and unashamedly nuts lyrics, a combination that they do well.

Totally with you re: My Prerogative, 3 and Easy. My Prerogative is one of Britney’s best despite it being a cover.

Great winner.
