Never did I ever think the “olympics of drag” would be shaping up to be one of the worst seasons to date.

 

If anyone bar Alyssa did what she did in that acting challenge, they’d have been straight in the bottom. Now she’s great, a legend of drag, but that shouldn’t mean in a competition where she’s being judged they should just glaze over it because they obviously want her to win. Kween winning wasn’t a huuuge stretch as I do think her or Pythia were the best individually but if they had to do it by group, then Pythia’s group was by far the best.

 

The way they are pulling Vanity is insane. I think it’s absolutely crazy for them to say her and Eva aren’t bringing a “global level” of drag when Kitty Scott-Claus is on the runway every week looking like… that? As has been said so frequently, this should be about showcasing drag around the world, not tearing it down. They even praised Gala and Vanity for the actual challenge then they just used nitpicks over the runway to put “lesser” queens in the bottom instead of giving them their flowers. Why even bother doing this concept and casting queens to pay all of them dust pretty much.

 

Eva was unfortunately the worst this week and I don’t think there was much saving her, it’s a shame she was invisible the entire time as I love her.

 

For me:

 

WIN Pythia

HIGH Kween, Soa, Vanity (they could have had 3 highs, so one from each group)

LOW Gala

BTM2 Alyssa, Eva (Alyssa’s runway could probably save her, but these are the only two who were bad in the challenge imo)

What a shit show. :lol: I don't understand any of that judging...

 

Soa, Pythia & Nehellenia were easily the top group and should've had a joint win tbh as I can see arguments for either winning, especially when you take into account runways as they all had such amazing runways.

 

And how on earth was Gala in the bottom 2? Bottom two should've been Eva & Alyssa or Eva & Kitty.

 

It also blows my mind how produced this is. Sure Kween, Kitty & Alyssa ended up in the same group by chance.... They should've spread them out into 3 different groups to avoid favourtism.

 

I also feel so sorry for the queens as they had filmed 4-5 episodes in like 7-8 days. Clearly there wasn't any real prep time or a chance for them to catch their breath during filming. And it shows in the challenges. The overall quality of the challenges isn't at the "global" level I was hoping it to be which isn't the queens' faults as they aren't given enough time and the challenges just aren't really edited right?

 

Also I'm a little bit annoyed of the lip sync songs used. Given it's global all stars I feel they should be using more songs in other languages.

 

This global all stars isn't what I thought it would be sadly. :(

 

 

The third challenge was the only one where I didn't laugh once DESPITE it also being the only one with an actual script.

 

Like not to be dramatic but I feel almost a bit gross watching this because they are judging the Anglos by SUCH a different standard and such a lower curve it's kind of giving oppressor.

 

They're not even trying.

I admit, I've stopped watching GAS after the third episode because the favouritism is favouritisming like it has never favouritismed before.

With a score of 2.2/10, this week’s episode is the lowest-rated episode in the history of Drag Race, overtaking the episode where Keta Minaj was eliminated in Drag Race Holland.

I really don’t understand the fans’ obsession with IMDb ratings, every time an episode doesn’t go well it gets review bombed like that :lol: I don’t think this is the worst EVER episode just because this season is off, that is so drastic. The actual quality of what’s being shown is fine, it’s the judging and editing that’s really really against it.

 

I do have to say though actually for the first time since actually UK3 (this season catching strays this entire thread lmao) I am becoming weary enough of a season to wonder if I will stop, if not for Nehellenia being one of my top 5 international queens I probably would dip.

A’whora has the fans in uproar as she has called out the runways this season, particularly Vanity’s “AliExpress” promo.

 

I’d rather AliExpress than whatever the f*** Kitty has had custom made :lol: Vanity’s original promo actually broke and she had to use something random and quick in lieu of that

Idk why people are mad at her for having an opinion.

honestly i think the fan pile on is way worse than the favouritism rn. i feel really bad for everyone involved and its horrible for the franchise. sure, kitty should have been btm in the ball but she deserved both her high placements after that and same for qween kong… it also seems at the end of the day that most people agree with the eliminations too, so i don’t rly get it.

Just caught up... another week of Kitty giving the most basic, uninspired dogshit on the runway and still ending up in the top. Yawn. She wasn't even good in the challenge either, so the audacity when she turned to the others and made that bitchy comment on the main stage when her group won...

I’m at the point of not even wanting to watch at this point because of Kitty and Kween, every single time one of them opens their mouth it’s at the expense of Nehellenia for no reason, particularly Kitty. And I know that’s the edit, we only see a selection of what we see, but it’s really not enjoyable or fun to watch at all them shitting on her when Kitty has been afforded insane favouritism as well as Alyssa actually. Kween has actually done really well I just find her unlikeable. It’s just really not an enjoyable experience to watch, it’s basically Nehellenia being one of my fave international girls that is keeping me on board.

 

I’m sick of the fact Gala and Eva for example have been told the need to change it up, Athena got told she wasn’t feminine enough, yet Kitty gets off scot-free when every single week it’s pretty much the same silouhette, the same tired campy presentation, and always being called safe so she avoids critique or she gets praised for it, just because that style is something Ru is familiar with.

 

This judging was actually ok this time imo, the only difference I’d have is I think Alyssa could have been in the bottom (again), maybe low but honestly I hated her outfit so I wouldn’t disagree with her lip syncing for it oop. Vanity’s wasn’t really on theme but I liked what she was going for, and considering she scrapped and started again it was decent. I think you kind of had the clear tops, Vanity, Kitty and Nelly I think were solid safe, then the rest you could have kind of justified anything.

Yeah this weeks judging was more or less okay. Kitty continues to drive me up the walls with her comments. Why is she taking it so personally?! As ifffff this was 1k worth of fabric lmao. f***ing beige lycra doesn’t cost that much 🫠

 

Gala absolutely slayed the lip sync, although the edit made it seem like it was a close call or that it was more underwhelming. I think the international girls already knew by this point that none of them is going to win over the Ru girls :’)

 

Can someone explain ‘Pasta margherita’ to me? It’s not funny in the slightest, just a tired Italian cliché. -_-

Kitty has been severely irritating, but jfc that episode she was somehow even worse?! Such an insufferable pain in the arse that thinks she is so much better than she actually is, and really doesn't seem like somebody I'd want to spend any precious time with. I'm glad (from what we're seeing) Pythia and Alyssa don't really play into this random vendetta that Kitty and Kween seem to have against Nehellenia.

 

Kitty's look was atrocious once again and should have been bottom. She cut a single piece of fabric and added some feathers to the top of it, like come on? It's the same thing week in, week out. Gala's clearly going to be gone soon (:cry:) but glad she survived the lip-sync even though Soa looked absolutely unreal this week.

I don't know why Kitty is being so unpleasant. She really tried to pursue Nelly when she was trying to avoid drama/friction and start something this episode as well as gaslighting her again - clearly she was stressed out and upset & Kitty tried to act like that was rude of her??

gutted to see soa go, i think she could have really been a contender and a personality if her english was just that little bit better.

vanity is my runaway favourite now. hope she can turn things around and start slaying.

I'm quite enjoying Tessa! Vanity as well. I might watch Sweden and Germany after this.

 

I like Gala too but feels like she was just cast in the Pearl 'hot guy' role.

 

Would love to see Kitty or Alyssa at least in the bottom to have to defend their superiority complex. That said, much as I think she's patchy, Kong had my favourite look this week. (Although, was it a cocktail dress?)

Sweden is actually really good, hugely underrated, Germany started off well for a few episodes but dragged a bit. Vanity actually wasn’t that likeable on Sweden imo, but she had some really strong challenge showings and it’s definitely her I’d have chosen for the GAS rep if not Santana, maybe Fontana but she gives me Vs The World. Honestly Vanity is capable of winning this if she gets out of her head, but I don’t blame her when the judges have put her in the bottom three times now when each of the three should have been Alyssa instead :lol:

 

I agree on Soa too, she actually did really well at Snatch Game on her season so I do wish we got to see her do some more comedy even if the language barrier would be against her. She did really well at the acting, I feel like due to the language barrier she kind of got overlooked as a lesser quieter character instead of being given a chance to shine because design challenges pretty much are her only weakness!

Honestly thought the judging was pretty much spot on, although I would've put Alyssa in the bottom over Vanity I think.

 

Sad to see Soa go :( I thought she was just coming into her own and then they hit her with another design challenge :lol:

 

Happy to see Gala stay but sad to see her being overlooked this season :(
