I like this season but for me this Snatch Game was absolutely the disconnect between Ru/American humour and British humour.

 

For me, the only two that were remotely funny were La Voix and Lill. Of the two, Lill's darker humour was then MUCH funnier than La Voix's, although La Voix has the character to take focus. So it could've gone either way. After them, Marmalade I guess had some moments. Rileasa was the clear worst, Charra Tea once again was COMPLETELY all over the place and Scarlet Harleted her way through the challenge by just doing EXACTLY what Ru said would be funny and it just... wasn't? Nadine Coyle as Mary Poppins but it's just someone saying Nadine Coyle quotes and Mary Poppins quotes? Ok... by that remit put yourself in a pink tracksuit with a crown and you can be Vicky Pollard as The Queen...

 

I didn't find Kyran or Actavia funny at all either. Elvis, really? And a made up character?

 

This is drag race UK. I want to see some bloody UK celebrities! Where's Billie Piper or Alison Hammond or Holly Willoughby? How is it 6 seasons and we've never had a Simon Cowell or Louis Walsh or Tulisa? Victoria Beckham? Jo Frost Supernanny. Gillian McKeith. Ant and Dec!

i loved charra in the snatch game lol! i hate hate hate made up characters but she actually smashed it and did something funny and absurd and still at least anchored in a real person.

 

rileasa was maybe the hardest to watch snatch game of all time. i think she might have thrown away the crown with that performance.

 

sad to see chanel go too ;( she just picked the wrong character and could have been really funny. marm is starting to bore me now, she seems too scripted and forced.

 

 

and yea, lill was robbed. 10/10 episode for her. .

Kind of agree on Marmalade. Needs a standout performance soon or she might find herself sashaying too!

I have not been a fan of Charra at all but found her amusing? The audition storyline and not getting the part was a smart way of using an insanely stupid RuPaul idea and making it work — I tend to hate when Ru interferes but she managed to do something with it

 

Honestly, I would have given the win to Lill in combination with her unhinged runway look — but I understand why La Voix won. I just think Liza has been done better before, but I appreciate how present her and Kyran were (and Kyran really does commit to a character)

Charra was brilliant in that snatch game, I thought. Have been a fan of her since the beginning, and I'm glad she got a real moment to shine there <3

 

Lill however was absolutely INCREDIBLE this week. That runway was insane and she had me cackling all throughout the snatch game. Kyran and La Voix were great too. Chanel... not sad to see her go, and there was nothing there at all in that character.

Imo they are fumbling Lill a bit. Kyran and La Voix are solid too, but Lill has, for me, the most star power out of anyone on the cast

Would have definitely had Lill in my top 3 for Snatch Game over Charra, she was funny but it was more safe for me, definitely the correct bottom 2. Rileasa was so bad. I love Channel as a character but I do think she has gave as much as she could.

 

They are all so good this series though, genuinely don’t dislike any of them. Lill is still my number 1 overall but I can’t see her being in the finale

I thought it was quite a strong snatch game to be fair and all except Chanel and Rhilesa had some funny moments. Ru f***ed up Rhi Tbf by mentioning her doing Sammy which she then decided to do Sammy doing Rhianna which I think was less funny than just doing Rhianna would have been. They kept saying how she is really private but so are a lot of other celebs they impersonate so that was a rubbish indication of her being hard to do, there is plenty of sassy shady things for Rhianna that would work or you just totally spoof her and throw in references to her songs etc.

 

I do think there is a bit of a disconnect with Ru on Snatch Game U.K as he doesn’t really get the U.K humour so some of it goes over his head. Think this is why we also don’t see many U.K stars on the show there are so many that could be done too all the Spice Girls or Beatles, Catherine Zeta Jones, Ant and Dec, Alan Carr or Graham Norton, Adele… the list is endless.

 

I think I like Marmalade the most this time followed by Lil. However I did appreciate Voix and Kyran working together and bouncing off each other, reminded me a bit of The Vivian and Baga Chips… although they were much better and didn’t get a joint win!

I do think Rihanna was just a bad choice for Snatch Game, a lot of the big pop girlies I feel like just don’t have the right personality to carry a Snatch performance, see Beyoncé failing every time someone does her :lol: Whereas if you look at say Liza, she is a quirkier, bigger personality with so much more to pull from, plus obviously Ru loves her.

 

I believe they have to have the character approved, not sure it’s the same now or for every franchise but I think they audition with it or at least have to have the characters they bring approved (Trixie for example wasn’t allowed to bring Anne Frank and Bianca couldn’t do Dora The Explorer as it’s an trademarked character, for UK I know Choriza wanted to do Marge Simpson and couldn’t). So I assume production wouldn’t let someone do a niche British character Ru wouldn’t know, but it could also be a vicious circle of the queens know what Ru wants to see so they do that instead.

 

This was an excellent Snatch Game anyway so I’m not too bothered, I would like the queens who are good at impersonation or improv to do something uniquely British though! Like give me Deirdre Barlow, Kat Slater, Hilda Ogden!!

Yes, yes, yes!!! Gail Platt or Sharon from Eastenders! :heart: Would be iconic, that's one of the reason Bagga Chips was so good as Maggie Thatcher, it was so British (and there was so much material for the milk snatcher!) Hoever Ru wouldn't have a clue who these people were they would need to do someone like Carrie Bradshaw or Samantha Jones instead. :lol:

So, I'm slightly rethinking my first take on this based on the assumption that it might be the case that DRUK has a list of celebrities they're allowed to choose from, instead of literally anyone.

 

It's always been something I've found confusing tbh that UK Snatch Game is so tame when a real defining feature of UK bar/live drag is that it's dark humoured, parody filled and often political too. That's what a performance like Lill's got closest to.

 

I guess I'm not sure if Drag Race UK is really for an adult audience as much as the drag I would see in a bar that is legally an adult only space is

Chanel's interview with Attitude doesn't help her come across any better than she did on the show! She basically said she doesn't accept criticism from Alan Carr and that they were she was waiting for the laughter for Rhilesa but there was only silence from the audience (same as with their Coco but of course that wasn't mentioned lol). :rolleyes:

That was one of the best episodes ever, this season is by FAR the best UK season we’ve had.

 

Any one of La Voix, Rileasa, Kyran or Marmalade could have won and Charra actually ate that up too. The bottom two didn’t even do that badly, they were just clearly the two weakest out of this challenge and I continue to be absolutely in love with Lill so I am so glad she stayed, she also just did the lipsync of the season!

Another amazing episode. One of the best Rusicals? Almost every queen slayed. Even the weakest 2 were still good. And such a fun lip sync at the end.

 

La Voix winning was the right choice. She gave probably one of the best performances in a Rusical across franchises? Was so impressed at how well she nailed Shirley Bassey.

 

Poor Lill and her inability to move :lol: But she then does well in the lip syncs when left to her own devices! Really happy she stayed.

I personally would have gave Rileasa the win this week but her, La Voix and Marmalade were all super strong imo. I’d have had Kyran and Charra as safe

 

 

Was another strong ep. Shame to see Actavia go, but it was the right decision/ bottom 2

 

La Voix was great… although everyone was really.

That was an incredible episode of Drag Race — those 30 seconds of Lill as Geri had me howling.

 

I cannot argue with La Voix getting the win but Marmalade really did an incredible job. That look. Stunning. I need her to get a win already — she's lowkey fantastic at everything but competing against juggernauts.
