I found it kind of insane because they always say you can’t go too far in a roast, just go for it, and they tell queens who shy away from those jokes they didn’t go far enough, but then Michelle gets offended at one joke so they act like it was all bad.

 

Any other roast/stand up in UK Drag Race history, Marmalade would have won, but La Voix was next level.

La Voix's roast has to be one of the best Drag Race has ever seen across all series and countries!! Immaculate from start to finish, her weakest joke was probably her first one and it just kept growing and growing from there. :wub: I was also team Kyran from the start but I think La Voix has my backing now - she honestly deserves it!

 

Marmalade's roast was definitely second best - the critiques were a bit wtf.

La Voix was so good. Also thought Marmalade was good as well! Was surprised by the critiques. I thought she just needed a bit better timing.

 

Kyran was a little disappointing although I have to say the Kiki's wigs so dry jokes were the funniest :lol: Kiki's wigs so dry they make Chanel's tears look wet made me cackle.

 

The bottom 2 was correct. Shame that Lill was so restricted - I think Lill would've won were they wearing a less hot/restrictive outfit. Although she did lose the lip sync :( So sad to see her go. She's definitely needs to come back for an All Stars or Vs the World and win. My fav queen from the season.

 

It's looking like La Voix will snatch the crown unless Kyran dominates the final.

La Voix is my winner now she has been so consistent throughout (as has Kyran and Marmalade Tbf) and I think it’s time we had an older queen too. 👑

Finally watched it and altho I've seen Kyran getting some heat online I do think the B2 was correct. I do think Lill was funny before she messed up though! The judges were a bit harsh saying she wasn't. It was an off day for her though and then tbh making her lipsync in that full body suit with the facekini must've been a health hazard! Its a wonder she got through it at all.

 

Throwing my hat in for team La Voix as well, what is it with UK queens steamrolling the season? She'd be a great addition to winners' circle - and then we might get Kyran 2.0 on vs the World or Global, so win-win!

I was surprised La Voix didn't win - even in the episode it felt like it was building up to her taking the crown.

 

I do love Kyran though and she did stomp over the competition... La Voix just stomped harder the last few weeks.

 

Amazing Season and up there with the very best of any franchise.

Not my winner!

 

Well done to her I guess, she did ok this episode and is definitely polished but she's not my taste at all.

 

Justice for Lill!

It’s weird for me because she is the kind of queen I like, but I just don’t think she had the run for it this time around. Her only real big standout moment for me was the talent show week 1 then she did do well at most things, if not everything bar the roast and maybe the chat show improv, for me but La Voix outstripped her most weeks. Even the acting challenge she won, I think Rileasa should have won that and La Voix was about the same level as Kyran. I did love her Snatch Game which I know people are a bit less agreeable to though. If anything Marmalade is on about the same level for me, and she gives vTW or Al Stars winner moreso.

 

I think they wanted someone different to win rather than another campy queen or cabaret queen, and Kyran was always going to win, but I do think La Voix is different enough in that she is very much proper classic drag. It’s not her fault they keep crowing campy cabaret queens, and any case I think Kyran still has that campy touch and a sense of humour that’s very much UK drag. If they wanted a diverse winners’ circle they shouldn’t have pulled the f*** out of Tayce and Dakota because both of those could have feasibly won if they just gave them their flowers a bit I believe.

 

Idk just any other season I’d be happy with Kyran winning but La Voix is in my opinion the best queen in all 6 seasons of DRUK and it feels so wrong she hasn’t got a crown.

I felt like Ru and Michelle downplayed her versatility in some of the comments they made this episode as well.

 

Like, yeah, her main STANDOUT strengths lie towards hosting, acting and singing, but she also did well every week and can keep up at lipsync, choreo and design too! Whereas there were clear weeks where Kyran did badly.

 

I'm not super mad at it though. Kyran did very well at the pageant sections of the episode. To me it came off a little calculated but talking about how everything is down to making your mum proud and talking to little you about that is always a surefire winner with Ru.

I feel like with Ru inviting La Voix onto the show they might have agreed for her not to win but she got great exposure? It’s not like Voix needed the win, she may have had some hush money to join the show I don’t know. Just having her on this year majorly upped the calibre up. I could obviously be way off the mark here :lol:

I am gutted! Not to take it away from Kyran who is obviously a fabulous drag queen but La Voix was just on another level. I agree with the comment above, had La Voix won it then she would have been the UK’s best winner.

I must admit I am surprised Kyran ended up taking the crown. The trajectory for La Voix in the last few weeks was remarkable. Her roast was hands down one of the best things we've ever had on any version of the show, her runways were always top tier, and she killed most other challenges. Part of me does feel like it's been deliberate because she could be persuaded to easily win a future UKVTW or All Stars (a la Jimbo)? But hmmm.

 

No disrespect to Kyran though, I have adored her throughout the whole season and she's been great to watch. :wub:

Disappointed that La Voix didn't win. Reminds me of Lawrence vs Bimini on season 2 when Lawrence (Kyran) was the early fave but Bimini (La Voix) completely dominated the 2nd half of the competition.

 

Hopefully La Voix will do an All Stars/Vs The World at some point. Perhaps even a US All Stars series ala Jimbo?

 

Overall the finale was really nice though.

Still a very strong season. Its unfortunate that Kyran wore that dress at the end as I think she showed better on other runways!

I can’t see La Voix coming back tbh

I don't see why she would, and I felt the same with Sapphira. How do you improve on pretty much perfection on your first go around? What more can La Voix possibly show in terms of growth? She's the most full package they've had on DRUK, and while I can't knock Kyran as she'd have made a superb winner on many other seasons, it does feel like a bit of a "fumble the bag" moment to let such a blatant winner just... not be to me.

 

I mainly just wish Drag Race would stop doing this storyline where they build one queen up massively at the end of the series, just to crown the one who did well in the opening weeks, it does absolutely NOBODY justice. La Voix, Roxxxy and Sapphira this year alone, all seemed to get an edit of "this queen is running away with it, she's unstoppable and the judges are letting her know how perfect she is", only for the show to crown someone else. And it's not to take away from Kyran, Angeria or Nymphia, who all deserved it but the show creates a feeling around other queens that makes it hard not to feel disappointed in the end.

 

That being said - what a series, what a cast of queens, one for the ages for sure, in a time when I was starting to get Drag Race fatigue.

Yeah I agree! So many seasons of Drag Race has that weird storyline, France did the same although the queen who won didn’t do well at the start or end they were cunty af but just had a f*** ass TR with no wins :lol: And that’s fine, there’s very very rarely a queen who doesn’t deserve to win at ALL but narratively it was a bit of a damp ending to the season when La Voix had perfect momentum going into the finale and such a winning edit. By no means is Kyran a winner the level of Le Filip or Alexa from Mexico (no shade to those bc I was ELATED at the latter especially) but it did feel like a damp squib after the run La Voix had the past few episodes.

 

It’s kind of similar to Krystal in S3 in a way but Kyran did well the whole time and also Krystal kind of won bc Ella was insufferable and Kitty just wasn’t there, but similarly it narratively made no sense given Krystal’s run. They feasibly could have given any of the other 3 finalists the Rusical and made it a little more even if they wanted to, but it felt like La Voix couldn’t lose then… she just did.

 

The season was so good it didn’t ruin it at all, I still just feel disappointed by the season ending the way it did regardless of how much I did enjoy Kyran.
