From a small video/images, it looks like they have a fallen chandelier backdrop.

Theres definitely a part where they step onto something (that may have some pyrotechnics on and may rise). Lighting looks a bit basic

I do really love this, especially the live performance version. I don't think staging is that important when you have a great song and great vocals and it definitely didn't lack energy. I just feel a

The run of chart success to me felt like a perfect storm of luck and fortune in many ways. 2019's Arcade, 2020's Think About Things and 2022's Snap all went viral on TikTok. Måneskin had great success

99.9% of the viewers won’t even know about the Malta thing so that is not going to be an issue.

Hoping h maybe the older generation send them some votes.

Anyway o don’t think this will be anywhere near bottom 5. Expect it to be top 10 with juries which “should” see it top 15 overall

It is the sort of song with its theatrical multi part production that will do better with juries than public vote I agree.

Honestly, same. The overwhelmingly positive reactions on this forum are really making it look like they will win. Let’s see if this pair of rose-coloured Ukrainian vaseline filter glasses lasts until Sunday.

"Overwhelmingly"? I'd say it's definitely mixed. I'd also say those of us who do like the song are quite aware that, although it's possibly our favourite (or one of our favourites) it's not going to win. However, we can hope that it surprises.

Those that like it seem to love it and those that don't will be sure to tell you at every point that they can that they don't so...

God forbid people find something joyous that they like and want to support doing well in a contest the song is literally designed for.

The staging needed to be on point for this but it’s not the best. To the point I would say very basic and boring. I feel it’s been done on a budget since there is no label involved this year.

Pretty much. The divide seems to be if you like songs from musicals or not (as I guess it's... slightly more West End musical than most pop songs, not hugely so though IMO), and I love musicals. Fairly certain my assessment of it as one of (if not the) best UK entries will last after the contest, it did with Electro Velvet and that was inferior to this - also ragged on for being an unconventional pop-adjacent entry.

That said, a fairly open year like this where a song with this title wins would be pretty perfect narratively. In my dreams.

For me I am still enjoying the song and I’m gutted more people aren’t enjoying it but each to their own

I do think in another year this wouldn’t be my fave song. I am still finding the whole field to be underwhelming, even my next faves (Ireland, Czechia, Malta) would be low top 10 in other years

Maybe I didn't notice a lot of negative opinions but in this case it works better as it's much better to be memorable than, for example, whatever Denmark puts out every single year.

People shitting on it shouldn't detract from its value. This is part of Eurovision too. The song is quite joyfully bad so we're on the same page, just on opposite sides of it.

I heard this tonight for the first time and my initial impression was that it was absolutely terrible, just a complete mess of a track with really poor staging to top it off.

Yeah I was hoping the live performance would help it click more but still finding the song to be a total dud unfortunately.

A shame as they're talented vocalists - that is at least a strength compared to the underwhelming U.K. live vocals the past couple of years

The girls are vocally great but this performance doesn’t show that too much, and the staging does the song absolutely no favours. I’d be astounded if this got any more than single digit televote points tbh and I’m not even sure the jury will flock to it. I could see the dreaded 0 televote again quite easily.

They don't deserve to do badly but there is definitely something missing with the song.

Hopefully they can manage top 20 even if it's 20th.

Electro Velvet was amazing and FAR better thsn this tripe!!! Electro Velvet deserved top 10.

After watching the final product for me the staging and song is no better than anything we sent in the 10 years prior to Sam Ryder. The chandelier is as effective as the trumpets were for James Newman. The girls themselves are fantastic and with the right song, staging and having a label that could put a bit of money into it they would do well but this isn’t it. They really could have went with ‘Prove Me Right’ with very basic staging and it would do far better than this.

I'm in agreement with Jade here! I really think they're very talented as performers and we have decent staging and some of the strongest vocals in the competition in general but the song itself is woeful!

I think we might at least get a sole public vote point this year but not expecting anything above 15th!

Sam Ryder really feels for now like a fluke for us in recent years. The UK committee who send our act / song just feel like they're really clueless!
