A promo single just won't be "pushed" as much as an actual single release would be, I assume? I doubt 'IT girl' will be sent to radio and have any primetime performances dedicated to it etc... for example.

Yeah, although even that can be confusing because for example Radio 1 will only ever playlist an official single whereas Capital will often playlist promo singles too. It's an increasingly blurred line between the two these days.

It Girl is doing better than Fantasy, despite being a promo single and not having any "Today's Hits/Hot Hits" type playlisting. Its Spotify partial is also better than Fantasy's.

^ I agree fantasy felt like she wanted to balance out how crazy aomd/ midnight cowboy were and do a more basic sounding pop song? It’s not bae it but it’s her weakest for sure. I’m here for it girl to at least outpesk it! Hope it can do well!

I think that's partly true, I love the song but it was incredibly "niche" sounding and wasn't ever gonna be a hit - although I don't really feel she's necessarily aiming for big chart hits anyway.

 

Still, shame they totally screwed her over last time by not giving her a Hot Hits add.

Fantasy is good , but IT girl really should of been the following up it's basically the sequel to AOMD

I honestly thought 'Fantasy' was both better than 'Angel Of My Dreams' and sounded more like a hit but I guess that's just me oop

 

She really seems to have been pushing 'IT girl' a lot for it to allegedly be just a 'promo single'. Odd case.

 

Also I'm not gonna be complaining if Teddy Swims' success with other songs ends up denying 'Lose Control' the chart longevity record due to the 3 track rule, not least because his other 2 charting songs atm are both worlds better. Despite obviously being an undebiably huge hit 'Lose Control' still feels like such an inconsequential song to be threatening records set by 'Blinding Lights'.

New Music Friday boost has put Bad Bunny's 'BAILE INoLVIDABLE' in at #113! I remember there was one song from his last album that briefly made the Spotify top 200 too but maybe this one could actually have a shot at finally giving him a top 100 hit not accompanied by a big Anglophone artist...

 

Great that Lola is gaining momentum again but still a lot of ground to make up. Hopefully she can get to #2 this week at least.

Ooh come through 'BAILE INoLVIDABLE' *.* would be interesting if a 6 minute+ song was the one to finally give Bad Bunny a solo top 100 hit here. Good to see JADE debuting in the top 50 too.

 

(also 'Fantasy' was great, was a shame that didn't catch on more -_-)

^ I think it's more likely to overtake 'Lose Control' when the album comes out (or just another week down the line, we've seen how long it takes all of his hits so far to peak!)
