Okay, I’m telling my boyfriend, I want a BJSC themed birthday cake.

My mum did used to vaguely know about BJSC, I can't remember why exactly I told her. I think it had something to do with me being busy. 😅 I doubt she remembers anything now. I never got her to submit for me lmao.

This is very small compared to some of the others but it was still lowkey tickling. I remember when a Terra Avium entry had the word 'kitchen' in it and when the entries were revealed it was actually posted as iamspamspamami.

Also I seem unable to read the entirety of the thread sorry, coz it's giving me a similar feeling to when I read or watch the news too much or scroll social media too much. A very specific feeling that I can't be bothered to deal with right now. 😅

Yeah my husband, some of my family and my BFFs they all know about BJSC!!!

You might ask how did they find out…well everytime I would drive with them, I was always getting asked who is this artist, how did you find out about this and that or those obscure songs that no one else listens to them , so during Covid I shared everything with them, and now they ask me frequently how well/bad I am doing in the contest!!!

Also what contest was when @gooddelta quit the contest for about 5 seconds, and I did quit the same as well for 3 seconds!!!

Omg y'all are hiding this?? My family and best friends know about me and BJSC lmao! They generally think it sounds like fun, but granted they are all fans of Eurovision too.

Anyways, this thread is a gold mine. I love reading this kinda stuff. I'm actually currently working on a BJSC wiki if anyone is interested. Kinda barebones at the moment, but all contributions are welcome (although to combat bot traffic I think you need to sign up to do that).

This is quite a good way of putting it actually! I honestly don't think he'd even care, after all I'm Eurovision obsessed enough to have my own channel recording videos for it.

It's just the idea of having to explain it which seems more hassle than it's worth or having to explain to him when I hosted last year "sorry I can't go to the cinema tonight, I'm hosting an online music contest" 😆

I've been working backwards from the current contest to see which nations participated in each contest and when nations debuted (as Bré wouldn't share that information), and once that is done maybe I can find a way to document all the entries but there has to be an easier way which I am sure you have already figured out.

Love the stats and any fascinating facts too.

Idk if the almost 15-year wait for the first nil pointer is worth a mention, or if that's just me looking for an excuse to casually point out that Trifoski were the ones to break it (and East Ruk ended up getting one too about six months later)

On that note tho - from a contest I hosted in 2013 there was a song recorded by a group of Buzzjackers for that year's Teams event (Shadeaux - Roo), which I gather was blocvoted into the final as a pisstake and then blanked completely - I think it was only one set of votes that stopped it from scoring nothing lmao

That's reminded me of this entry from Buzzjack Mountain in BJSC 90 featuring members from Danæviia & Pupok;

If I'm to be self indulgent, the only particularly stupid lore I think I have to my name is that I once entered a song called "Warrior" which I found on YouTube simply labelled as a "Demo for Rihanna" with no artist attached. So, I just created a name for the singer called KENYA.

She doesn't exist, she never has existed, but she now has a 22nd place to her name x
