January 26Jan 26 I knew I didn't have a competitive entry this month so I was prepared to DNQ, honestly I'm thrilled to get as many as 27 points! Thanks to the 6 countries who gave me points, that's enough for me to not regret sending it.7/10 of my votes made it through, I'm particularly shocked at New Lexico not qualifying and disappointed at Macromia missing out.
January 26Jan 26 Just followed this in bed yesterday, so did not comment yesterday. So happy to be in the final for the first time. It was such a big competition with 12 great songs dropping out. From my votes only one song did not receive a sufficient amount of points: +05 Persephonia: Sr. Falla de Origen - Sqfml. However, some songs, which were close behind the 10, did not made the cut. Looking forward to the final.
January 26Jan 26 Didn’t really take much notice of the Semi 2 songs but just noticed that the First Aid Kit song is actually “Out of My Head”, a song which I adore !!! In fact, that whole era racked up 100s of plays for me. So yay for that!
January 26Jan 26 Damn, I said it somewhere in a recent contest that I will start always listening to the opposite semi's DNQs but I forgot and still haven't done so for any of the recent contests (unless I heard some on SyncTube) I guess it's okay to just let those contests be (unless I feel like diving deep sometime) and start doing that in this first contest of the year then. Will get round to it very soon. Coz I sometimes wonder what I've missed out on song-wise from the opposite semi... Y'all probably not be letting masterpieces thru 😅
January 26Jan 26 Gutted to have lost my top two votes, semi 1 better have brought it to make up for such a hit 12 Aelandor :: Pom Pom Squad – Villain10 Altyr Muunilinst :: RABO – Stuck In November08 QUALIFIED07 QUALIFIED06 QUALIFIED 05 QUALIFIED04 QUALIFIED 03 New Lexico :: girlish figure – Please Her For Pleasure02 QUALIFIED 01 Ojnoj :: Déyyess – Lips Like Sugar
January 26Jan 26 Relieved to be through after scanning the thread and it was getting closer and closer to the end!FSR Rontvia and Kathaldazia are two huge losses for me, can’t believe that they didn’t make it as I thought both would be comfortably in 😢

January 26Jan 26 Spodic entry not being on Spotify wasn't fatal after all. Still kinda shocked at a few of the NQs from nations that hardly ever fail.
January 26Jan 26 Before the listenthrough I hadn't really conisdered DJ Suzy to be at risk at all, but the semi was super strong and competitive and it got lost in a quiet section, which is a shame because it's quite a beauty. But I'm at peace with the DNQ because it didn't get any 12s or 10s in the semi so wasn't exactly robbing anyone of their main favourite (in that semi anyway, I think it could have got 70-80 points in Semi 1).Altyr, Kathaldazia and FARC are bigger shocks to me though, as well as the double from Persephonia, and just shows, you can never predict BJSC. And also you can't assume somebody is always definitely safely in due to their past results, if the semis stay this big then even those countries that always manage to qualify will either send a song that doesn't quite connect enough or land in the wrong semi. The benefit of 'big' countries going out is that others get their well deserved spots in the final. It's a song contest and no country should be judged on anything other than the song they have sent that month.

Although I do remember a couple of times where people have literally forgot to even listen to an entry because it wasn't on the Spotify/Apple playlist so there's always that risk!

January 26Jan 26 I have (at least) one potential that I don't think is on Spotify or AM and I've been wondering if it would make any difference
