So, in an interesting turn of events I only just returned to the contest the other day and I'm already hosting. Dalisska is very happy to welcome you all to Lyndra (our beautiful coastal capital city) for the upcoming 182nd Buzzjack Song Contest!

Last edition, Cheiron won for the first time with their song "Out of My Head" by First Aid Kid. Will we get another first time winner for BJSC 182 or will someone add another 1st place trophy to their collection? Only time will tell!

Confirmations will be opening on the 11th of February.

(While I was figuring out what banner I'd make, I discovered a Japanese artist called Mizuki Heitaro, who has many pieces of artwork from the 1930s that are in the public domain. So I'm hoping to make a few more banners similar to the above one for the contest using their work)

I did think of a possibility in the car earlier. It's traditionally something that would have bombed spectacularly, but I wonder how it might be received now (genuinely no idea what people might like, and the aim is always to introduce music to people that they love and might not have heard otherwise!)... I also have various songs I was considering last time around that nearly made the cut. So who knows what I'll send up sending? 🤣

Inspired by last contest's winner's avatar, I will likely go ahead with my French discovery that I considered switching to during the previous confirmation window.

I had entirely forgotten that Dalisska will still have to qualify through the semis until the mods let me know. 😅

So the idea of not qualifying for a contest I'm hosting is a little nerve wracking admittedly...but I feel pretty good about my planned entry so I don't think it's going to happen. (famous last words...🙃)

You would join an incredibly rare selection of posters who had the 'honour' of announcing their own DNQ should that unfortunately happen.

(I know Iz was the first back in my debut contest but I am curious to who else is in this unique club)

Since I started in BJSC 151, the only non-winners I've known to host are:

151: D'yermak'er (Q)

152: Sovarasma [co-host with Summericia] (Q)

154: Yobnedorica (DNQ)

159: Skall (AQ from 2nd)

160: POPHub (DNQ)

I think every contest since then has been winning nation-hosted until now.
