The rules on the OCC website say £3.75 is minimum "full price".

Go for a toilet break! That's what I did when 'Madame X' was announced, think I was gone 20 minutes! 😂

It happened before with someone else. The album was £3.99 and it registered only around 100 extra downloads, the following day the price changed to £4.99. Madonna started with 4.4K downloads and only sold 400 extra downloads in two days despite having the 1-4 positions on iTunes albums and #1 on Amazon (Plus the store download on the website) Just seems very low for the multiple versions and holding 1-4 in the albums.

Just seems strange to me that the same pattern happened with Madonna after the mids came in upping the price to £4.99.

There are rumours on X and other M fansites that some other fan bases got organised to support Olivia against M to stop her no1 in the US. I wonder if it’s true.

I could have sworn anything above £3.75 counts. What makes you think they haven’t been counted?

Yeah they absolutely should’ve been counted. If they changed the rules surely they would have to announce that? That’s a lot of wasted money from fans who thought they were helping her out on the charts.

Digital Albums

(Full Price) 3.75 or over (On Demand Audio Stream) N/A Over 25 minutes OR more than four songs where the format does not

qualify as a “Maxi” single or remix single as defined by singles

eligibility.

To be fair, I don’t believe there’s anything out there to definitely suggest they haven’t been counted - aside from it generating less of a sales increase than may have been hoped for.

It’s possible that iTunes album sales really are just that low

This is the most likely scenario to be honest. iTunes sales aren't as strong as they were back in 20 years, so any exposure is great.

Just now, Jessie Where said:

Do we have confirmation they haven't been counted or is it just speculation?

Just speculation based on downloads only increasing 400-500 across two days despite the increase in download editions.

That’s 200 a day but I think the Grindr and instrumental downloads were released during that time (for £3.99) and, combined with the other versions, I’m fairly sure they would’ve generated more than 200 sales a day! Especially since she already reached 4.4k downloads from Friday, Saturday and Sunday, basically the only people downloading it would’ve been for chart purposes so I’m fairly sure they would’ve also bought the 2 new editions.

New 22-track version of the album available on iTunes, which includes the previous four remixes released (one of "I Feel So Free" and three of "Bring Your Love"), plus two new remixes of "Love Sensation". This 22-track version is also discounted to £3.99, so I highly doubt they would make the same mistake if that price was ineligible and I assume they're doing this 'special offer' between 24 and 48 hours,

It's just speculation from my side but the extra versions were £3.99 for 2 days then they upped the price to £4.99 after getting mids info. Exactly the same thing happened with another artist (Who I wish I could remember) was £3.99 the mids info came in and then they upped the price to £4.99.

I don't see why else they would up the price at that moment? Why would they be bothered about a few pence otherwise?

It just seems REALLY strange that she had sold 4.4k downloads on Monday's mids, fans were pushing the new versions, a stack of extra's, the full top 1-4 in albums and the heavy crazy price reduction meant she sold just 400 sales (Surely even the original version without the discounting would have sold 200 ish in 2 days let alone the £6.99 ICON version) It just doesn't make any sense to me.

It's less than 10% of her overall total sales across 2 new formats (5 in total plus Amazon / Her own webstore) with loads of extra's plus a lot of people were downloading and pushing across socials?

I guess we just have to assume they were counted if the minimum is £3.75.

Number one album in Australia!! And Number 2 in New Zealand (behind Olivia Rodrigo).

The UK chart wait is gonna feel like agony (I mean I know It wasn’t even close in the mids but you never know if a last minute 20k is just gonna appear out of nowhere).

Also re the download sales I do think they’re counted and It was possibly that they’re just that low (or maybe there was a delay In digital sales) intrigued to see the digital sales as they’re released later today. Roll on 6pm!

The Test is the one for me today. I’m not sure how it took a week for a trip-hop stan to claim it

I’m quite comfy about the UK but can’t wait to find out what the hell happened in the US! And New Zealand? Didn’t realise they have no taste.

What I’m more stressed about is Danceteria making the top 40, if it does miss out it could be excruciatingly close.

It’s not looking likely but if she hit 50k sales that would be the cherry on the cake.

"CONFESSIONS II" debuts at #1 on Australia Official Albums Chart!!

* It's her 13th #1 album on Australia and her 2nd #1 on this Decade.

*Her 22nd ARIA Chart Top10 album.

*Madonna is the 4th artist with the most #1 albums on the country.
