Though I don't understand how Bad is in the album charts, but not Off the Wall, considering the film only has one song from Bad in it!

Because the songs from Bad are streaming well.

Noah could potentially nudge just past 50k in the albums by Friday especially if his streaming numbers continue to hold.

Shame Doors is just outside the top 10, I need to have another listen of the album, I feel it’s a grower.

Noah definitely won’t drop out in the second week.

Just looked stick seasonis on its 136th week top 40 on the albums , I dont think TGD will last that long but its a strong indication he wont fall out week 2

Not Noah and the Foos... but Skindred and Jessie Ware!

Unsure if that's happened before

Ah! Makes more sense

Foos are on much lower sales than I expected :o

It happened almost exactly 3 years ago with Enter Shikari + The 1975's Record Store Day live album (Taylor Swift's RSD release also went 4-out the same week, Everything But The Girl going 3-63 preventing it from being the entire top 4 dropping straight out of the top 100).

Yeh higher than I expected for Noah and lower for Foos!

Looking in more detail - the film only has two songs from ‘Off The Wall’ on it - one of which isn’t currently charting on Spotify or Amazon. A third song from the album IS charting but isn’t in the film. And having two big songs is not enough to have a charting album.

In general, the songs on the soundtrack are not necessarily the ones charting. For example, the only song from ‘Bad’ in the film - ‘Bad’ itself - is not charting on Spotify. But 4 songs from ‘Bad’ are charting on Spotify and 5 on Apple (including 4 in the top 100).

So the film is inspiring people to play Michael’s back catalogue rather than songs from the soundtrack. And in general, his most played songs are those from Bad and Thriller - which both had a lot of singles released from them: at the time ‘Bad’ was the album with most singles released from it - and all were top 20 hits. ‘Bad’ has had almost every song certified at least silver.

Noah is streaming incredibly well, it bodes well for longevity of the album once all the physical sales drop off.
