Oh we’re getting some tumes. Every add this week is literally brilliant. Holly Humberstone getting her best song ever playlisted, a gem from Beyoncé (albeit not her best), MADONNA, a masterpiece from Erin LeCount and a bop from Jazzy. Super satisfied with all of these! cheer

However the removals are… concerning. Ellie Goulding and Skye Newman are gone when in reality one of them shouldve been moved up to the a list over calvin. Lily Allen crashes out getting stuck at C dragging JADE down to her first ever song that couldnt progress further. The other two were expected tho.

giving more comments. Really wish Alessi Rose was here as they have supported her immensely, but she’ll probably make it in the few weeks. Worried about Teddy Swims, new song is amazing but his new lead got stuck at B List… Tyla also still not being here is weird, same with John Summit x Absolutely.

I’m hoping to see a surprise in a couple weeks from the sister stations, would love artists like Natanya (1XTRA) or Franky Rizardo (1DANCE)

I'm sure Danceteria has just been added to cover their backs from people saying they only added Bring Your Love cause it has Sabrina on it. I assume it'll just do a Padam and just stuck in C list jail. But either way, I'm so happy it has some sort of exposure!

Was looking to see who the oldest artist to be playlisted by Radio 1 was and it seems it was Captain Tom Moore who was 99.

As far as I’m aware, I don’t think Tom Moore was ever playlisted. If you mean oldest played, then I think you would be correct

This makes sense, thank you. Anyone have an idea who the oldest playlisted artist is?

I don't know definitively but Paul McCartney was 72 when 'FourFiveSeconds' was playlisted in 2015

all the songs i know as a 16 year old, who would be -12 years old. Feels weird seeing Iris C List given how big it is even to this day. Body Movin and Needin U are so good.

1998 is quite an old playlist, good to see it. Some tunes on there.

When was the Clist created, saw an old playlist with only an A & B List. But think that was the early 90s.

Not sure but it was there in 1997, it was called "As Featured", however I just post it as C-List

A 68-year-old on the Radio 1 playlist without help from a much younger star this time.

Totally there for it!

Said it before, I'll say it again.

If the song sounds right for Radio 1, and this one really does, it should be on!

Padam Padam smashed down the ageism walls, now I'm really hoping they consider Kylie again next time round.

I see it more as a thing of airing artists of all ages if the song has enough 'buzz', but Padam Padam definitely opened the doors for this stuff! It's as hard as heck to get a hit now, and Danceteria is one!

This totally wasn't playlisted.

And not to speak ill of the dead with money-grabbing grifting daughters but it was absolutely bloody unlistenable.

ROFL for Satisfy on A list - where is Prospa? And another Jazzy song added - a joke! They seem to like generic dance music.

"White Noise" is a good add - such a strong song from a great album!

They really wouldn't give that much of a shit about this, it's on because it's doing well, suits the sound of the station and they're not as bothered about listener or artist age anymore.

Let's face it, they need all the listeners they can get with so many young people not even understanding the point of radio, fragmented audiences etc.

Nat and Vicky read out a text from someone talking about their 16-year-old daughter today, that would have never happened ten years ago as they didn't want to even acknowledge the fact they had listeners aged over 30.

What Prospa song were you expecting them to add?

I doubt they’ve moved on to a new single yet with ‘Free Your Mind’ still flying. I do think they should’ve kept that on for another week or two.

Charley Marlowe was in for Nat with Vicky last Friday and said she was halfway through the Madonna album and loved it, but was disappointed there's no Kylie collab.

Pretty sure that would’ve been a sackable offence at Radio 1 10 years ago!

Most likely!
