Each week (aiming for Sunday evenings) I'll post one two of these polls and ask you all to select your favourites from the week's new entries in the UK Singles Chart top 100 (and the week 10 weeks prior, until I'm caught up again). Unlike the similar polls in the genre forums, this poll is multiple choice - I'll leave it to your discretion how you want to give votes, if you want to just vote for your favourite each week then go for it, if not you can vote for as many songs as you feel deserve a vote (I will encourage people to make sure they've actually listened to all of the songs before voting but I can't enforce that obviously x). There's also a 'none of the above' option if you want to put in a protest vote. And then feel free to post in the thread any rankings/ratings or general thoughts. The song with the most votes at the end of the week will be the winner.

Resuming where we left off with the catchup polls, cross-generational American pop girl collab 'Bring Your Love' by Madonna and Sabrina Carpenter - the second song to be released from Madge's 15th studio album 'CONFESSIONS II' - topped the week 19 poll with a comfortable lead of 7 votes over the only song from the poll that's gone on to actually be a sustained hit for more than a handful of weeks from SIENNA SPIRO. Maybe SIENNA wouldn't have even been this close if I'd done the poll on time. When we jump to the more up to date poll there's absolutely no closeness to be found as it's to no one's shock an utter walkover for another American pop girl, Olivia Rodrigo with 'honeybee', currently still an album track from her 3rd album 'you seem pretty sad for a girl so in love' just charting now as it got its turn under the 3 track rule. Lead single 'drop dead' won its poll but it remains to be seen whether the other two singles will manage the same as they're both yet to come in the catchup polls. Only 11 people didn't vote for 'honeybee', and of those 8 plumped for 'none of the above' (assuming no one voted for both of those options which is never something I actually check). Of the other two options Kolter did pick up a few votes but Fat Papi has the ignominy of joining the mikeeysmind 'Papaoutai' AI cover as the second song of the year to register 0 votes. I thought it was a pretty mediocre early Post Malone rip but it wasn't that bad, certainly deserved a vote more than the Chris Brown and D-Block Europe songs which both escaped with a single backer in the first poll.

Full week 19 results:

1 20/36 Madonna and Sabrina Carpenter - Bring Your Love (#29)

2 13/36 SIENNA SPIRO - Material Lover (#67)

3 11/36 Zara Larsson and Shakira - Eurosummer (#83)

It's good timing for me to be doubling up these polls as for a second week in a row the current week's poll has a paltry selection, down from three songs last week to just two this time. A thrilling race between Gracie and 'none of the above' this week? The catchup poll is a little more substantial although sadly infected with AI. I remember being a little confused as to what was going on with that 'Angels Above Me' thing as the version credited with the OCC didn't appear to be charting anywhere whereas a couple of other versions of the song were - but I'll take the OCC at their word here. ""Unfortunately"" I can't include MDB on the Spotify playlist anyway because their version got removed from the platform (appears the only prominent versions left are the original by Stick Figure and a version crediting David Guetta and Alok which I will guess without verifying is modelled closely on one or other of the AI versions). It's still on YouTube though so I've linked that version below if you are a completionist and need to hear all of the slop. Josh Fawaz' apparently also AI slop entry remains fully available on all platforms.

  • the way none of the above is comfortably winning for week 30 😭

voted every non ai song for week 20 cos that was a STRONG week, none of the above for week 30 tho :/

Went for Charli, Calvin and Harry for the first week. None of the above for the second. Both a bit boring.

Week 20 none of the above (actually suprised charli is winning atm considering how negative the reactions were 🤣)

Week 30 Gracie

Dance No More and Girl Like Me for week 20, Slick for week 30. Hope we don't get our first none of the above win!

Week 20

  • Charli xcx - Rock Music (#36) - trying to be too clever, just doesn't work for me

  • Calvin Harris and Jazzy - Satisfy (#55) - promised so much on paper but massively underwhelms, huge mis-step for calvin and a deserved floppagé

  • Harry Styles - Dance No More (#58) - bit too subtle and backseat for my liking

  • Prospa and Murda Beatz - Baby (#65) - this is a very weak effort from the usually reliable prospa, that persistent whining vocal really ruins everything

  • MDB - Angels Above Me (#76) - ah i've heard this somewhere before, between the original and this there's a good song there somewhere (at least the hook is good) but don't particularly enjoy either individually

  • PinkPantheress - Girl Like Me (#81) - cute sample and another decent effort an all around, one to revisit!

  • Josh Fawaz - Like A Prayer (#85) - to borrow a famous quote from another poster on here, it's utterly butterly shite

Just PP here!

Week 30

  • Gracie Abrams - Good Reason (#55) - 100% hideous

  • Victony - SLICK (#99) - not a lot of substance here but issa vibe~

G'won then Vic, was the closest i've been to my first ever null vote here.

Week 20

01 PinkPantheress - Girl Like Me (#81)

02 Charli xcx - Rock Music (#36)

03 Harry Styles - Dance No More (#58)

04 Calvin Harris and Jazzy - Satisfy (#55)

05 Prospa and Murda Beatz - Baby (#65)

06 MDB - Angels Above Me (#76)

07 Josh Fawaz - Like A Prayer (#85)

Just voted for PinkPantheress this week. How can I resist a well done Basement Jaxx interpolation?! <3

'Rock Music' is still let down by the lyrics and printer jamming chorus for me but the production is good enough to put it second here

The AI slop/alleged AI slop was a depressing listen. Glee Cast's 'Like A Prayer' cover outsold x

Week 30

01 Gracie Abrams - Good Reason (#55)

02 Victony - SLICK (#99)

Voted for Gracie in this poll, still not crazy about her music but her identity feels stronger in this second era

the way none of the above is comfortably winning for week 30 😭

Week 20: just voted PinkPantheress, a decent one as usual from her, while the other big names in this group don't quite hit the mark.

Week 30: voted Gracie and it's far from a default choice, a really nice tune and the best I've heard from her this era.
