I guess even for the last two, I partly dislike them because they are overrated. I loved Ed Sheeran at the time but both ‘Thinking Out Loud’ and ‘Perfect’ made me want to puke. His music was always so genuine, but I felt that ‘Perfect’ was not - it was purely written to appeal to the masses, rather than from the heart.

Mr Brightside is as #37 according to the list I used (believe it is Spotify only data).

It's also all time, as Coldplay's Yellow is at #13. Interestingly the highest placed song from the 20th century is The Police's Every Breath You Take at #22.

Highest female artist excluding Kyla is Billie Eilish at #14 with Birds of a Feather.

My assumption is that this is a global list, and Mr. Brightside is bigger in the UK than elsewhere.

 

It’s strange looking through everyone’s lists and seeing that we have a love/hate relationship with Ed Sheeran!

Your relatively new its not strange at all if you been on buzzjack for multiple years 🤣🤣 it was less noticeable during his play era because hes no longer as dominant

Christmas songs get basically nothing outside of 2 months each year so not surprised to see none of them high.

I’ve noticed it loads. But I just assumed it was a comparatively recent thing. He is such a talented man, though I don’t feel his recent music is as inspirational. But Buzzjack does have a thing against male artists.

A lot of these songs were continually in the Spotify charts for years.

I think if the list had been UK only or even UK/US only, at least 2-3 Christmas songs would feature in this top 10, but most of the world aren't quite as big on them.

Tbf I definitely do get the disdain for Perfect as it's quite corny. Although I still like it, it's worn off me since release, I just don't rate much of the rest of this list (I only love my top two).

I'll always defend Shape Of You as a top class pop song though. It was overplayed for years but I hardly hear it now so have reintroduced it into my own semi-regular rotation.

‘Blinding Lights’ is my favourite & honestly it can be a toss up between like 7 others for my least favourite. Went with ‘Shape of Poo’ though. Dire and that was even before the overplay/how successful it became. So bland!
