Once upon a time yes but these days you get loads of countries with a 100% qualifying record every year so you'd probably need a few big hits in there too?

It doesn't matter how big your hits are as long as you accumulate the 10th most points throughout the year. And that's possible without any top 10 hits at all, looking at my average so far this year. Obviously I did have 2 top 10s but I'm talking averages.

I’ve loved pretty much every Botanikka entry this year (bar their winner, ironically) and they’re incredibly good at jumping between genres for a hit so I absolutely can’t knock them being the top country of the year, it definitely feels that way to me.

Quite a consistent slope from positions 3 to 40.

As per my new 'rule', I listened to all of semi 1's DNQs (the opposite semi to mine) this morning. You guys kicked out some good songs. My favourite was probably Aelandor, followed by Ennea, Scotland 2 and A-Konohagakure (in that order).

Numayania and Persephonia were cute too x

I don’t think any of the songs kicked out would have been in my bottom 10, with the obvious exception.

The only real injustice at present is T.O.P 'Studio54' not qualifying Lotunia's NQ streak. I hope they get a break from that next contest!
