17 hours ago17 hr Agreed on Liquido, it has 300m streams for a good reason, it's a classic track.I don't remember The Joy Formidable's song, but will recheck it for landslide potential.
17 hours ago17 hr early guess:the person behind 『ねぎ塩豚丼 - 夏の幻』 a.k.a "NEGISHIO TONDON - Natsu no Maboroshi" is uhsting because they often keep the title as it is x
17 hours ago17 hr I just feel like Nuggets usually has more range and really different takes on the same theme. I'd be curious to see a contest where people are randomly assigned different lead instruments or genres. Would a synth track landslide? Who knows, but it could be fun to see what people come up with
16 hours ago16 hr I also thought The Joy Formidable sounded like an obvious winner (whereas the Liquido song is one of the least interesting songs here for me oops! I'm sure there must be something to it for it to be so popular but it wasn't doing a lot for me)

16 hours ago16 hr Tbh I broached the idea of nuggets themes before during a listenthrough but the response was basically “don’t fix what ain’t broken.” But I still think it’s a good idea x Edited 16 hours ago16 hr by dhwe

Who knows, but it could be fun to see what people come up withThis would be cool, kind of like a variation on the lottery themes but specifically about lead instruments / genres.I would love to be assigned something where I have to dive into the depths of the music world a bit Or at least some kind of more unexpected instrument like a harp, a theremin, a cor anglais or a Chinese pipa!

I can’t remember the last time I gave 12 points to a song I can’t remember but listened to multiple times. The lack of variation would only get worse in a themed guitar contest I imagine, which is why I think a more randomised/lottery type contest could be interesting, especially through the lens of it taking place in this forum rather than pop
7 hours ago7 hr Author i only just came back home and i haven't made dinner yet unsure whether i'm free tomorrow night but if i am, results will begin at 6 pm. otherwise, see you on thursday at 8 pm x
6 hours ago6 hr In a way, Nuggets is a very popular themed version of UP. As guitar-led songs make up such a huge proportion of all the music that fits somewhat into this forum.More restrictive themed contests in terms of genre I find tend to box people into avenues they may not be used to, I may not have a good song for a specific theme, but I'll always have a guitar-led song or two somewhere in my pocket.
