Falling in Reverse’s song must be one of the heaviest songs in quite some time to chart, if it stays in. I’d say it’s heavier than any of BMTH’s entries in the last decade or so.

I wonder what's actually gone wrong with Carly Rae here. Her last album charted at #16 in a busier climate, before the variants era and I don't think she's necessarily any less popular than she was then (as a niche act)

Also one of her side B's even charted at #42.

thought it might've been pricing but despite being double-disc her vinyl and CDs are pretty normally priced so idk?

There are different parts to evaluate here, but I don't think anything went wrong "per sé".

I mean, in charts placements, it's basically an underperformance in all senses. However, it makes me think what were Carly Rae's priorities beforehand. Personally, as a niche/cult act, one of the most important parts is promotion and I think that she covered them with online interview magazines (Dork, Pitchfork, Vulture, etc.), as well as podcasts (Las Culturistas).

Obviously, she could have targeted even more with pop-ups, signings and shows in key markets, but let's be honest that the budget should have been limited and if she spent it on a splendid and double album, the resources will have run out.

Movin' To The Sun is on ACR. Victory !

Miley ahead of them both by ~700-900 copies. Miley should outdo both of their sales weeks taking into account she's doing better streaming-wise.

Hoping Miley might be able to overtake Beck, David Bowie & Roger Taylor come Friday with the benefit of streaming given that she's not too far behind. Glad to see more CDs and a CD bundle put up for sale - hopefully they'll keep pushing the album throughout the week.

I can see "Smile" is available on apple music USA as well which is a physical exclusive bonus track. Perhaps it's being released on streaming services to boost the album a little bit too? Hope to see it on Spotify at some point in the week.

Miley's sales are about where I expected tbh. She "only" had about 2 weeks pre-order time!

I wrote that before sales were available yes it looks a little better but I still dont see her ending up any higher than top 15/20 at best

I want to be proven wrong as its a decent album and she deserves better success than I feel she will get

Wow, really surprised by how Carly and Miley performed so far. It makes me think Natalie's performance from two weeks ago wasn't even that bad, comparing budgets and campaign sizes. Tough times for the queens...

As much as Miley deserves more I’ll take top 10 (even just at midweeks stage!)

Ellie threw out two additional versions of her album on release week but Miley is likely doing slightly better on streams so I hope she can stay top 10. Mileys at #1 and #3 on iTunes and #2 on Apple Music.

And its not like you need that many sales to get top 10 recently

It is very odd! I can’t speak for anybody else but nothing I heard pre-release excited me, it felt like a pretty big departure from her previous work. On Wires was very meh. I listened to the first half of the album and only Versailles stood out to me.

Miley selling less than Beck, eek!

Glad to see Bea likely to grab the #1 in any case. Hope Wasia Project can stay T100 - great album!
