It's perfectly simple - the SALES for the Chart of W/E 2nd January, (revealed on

Sunday 27th December), are ALL IN 2009 - so, it is the final Chart of 2009.

Why should those Sales be included in 2010's Sales? :)

IF the Charts were W/B (Week Beginnning), then this would not even

cause disagreements. We'd then be saying that the Chart of W/B

27th December 2009, is the final Chart of 2009. Well, they are W/E

Charts, instead, & the W/E 2nd January Chart is the exact equivalent

of a W/B 27th December Chart. And - either way - the Sales are for Sunday

20th December to Saturday 26th December - ALL 2009 Sales.

NOTE

It would be easier if The OCC started counting the Charts from the day

they are published - making them W/B Charts, from 2010 onwards. 'Music

Week', only needs to put the W/B Date over their Charts - rather than their

Issue Date. It is not rocket science, & would stop the arguments, at the

end of the Year, as to when the final Charts of the Year are.....

Some just look at the w/e date, a 2010 date, and take it as a 2010 #1. It's been noted in this way for 40+ years according to Guinness. It doesn't really matter, whichever way it's looked at. It'll reach #1 on 27th Dec '09 but it'll still be #1 on 2nd Jan '10.

The main thing is is that this week is included for the 2009 end of year. :D

The OOC method works for the general public doesn't it?

A #1 is reveal on Sunday and they remain at #1 until the following Sunday. So Joe will officially be #1 as the clock strikes midnight and we welcome in the New Year. Then whoever is #1 the week after is the first ANNOUNCED in 2010.

It's like Christmas #1. Rage are Christmas #1 as they are this weeks #1 and this week includes Christmas Day so officially they are #1 on that day...even though we know Joe will actually be the #1 on that day

Um....I made no real input, I had to type this as you were all confusing me lol.

Very much confusing, and I had to re-tweak my Week By Week stats, I'm guessing we are Week 52, what makes it more confusing, is the week ending for Joe as the week ending 2 Jan, which is Week 1 of 2010, bah humbug... I give up.
It seems pretty obvious Joe will be the last #1 of the decade...

Would anyone like to guess what these could end up on by Sunday?

Its going to be hard to guess, Firstly, Christmas Day shops are closed, and than January sales kick in early on a Boxing Day, also the iTunes gift cards. To take all in consideration. I can't call it.

Very close between Cheryl and BEP. Cheryl might drop because shops are closed

Where did those come from  someone must be working overtime

iTunes gift card purchases and Xmas TOTP will really impact the chart. The older hits will get the biggest boost.

The Sats still can't be at #29 can they? They've jumped up about 10 places on iTunes since Sunday!

edit: Sorry, just realised the two posts were about different midweeks

does anyone know how much Rage have added to their 40k from tuesday?
