February 17, 201115 yr :o Adele 18 to 3 in one day! Surefire number one, Lady GaGa will have to be 2 this week
February 17, 201115 yr Would be happy with either Jessie or Adele, but Adele has a far better song. Price Tag just doesn't have anything special about it.
February 17, 201115 yr I actually find myself agreeing with Shelli. Going to get shot at from all angles for this but I do not see the hype for "Someone Like You", it's nice enough but her vocals are a bit OTT and it's hardly world-endingly brilliant. "Born This Way" looks like it's not going to make it now, bizarrely. Still, it should be a big contender next week assuming we get the video in the next few days (anyone remember how badly "Telephone" was doing before THAT video?). I think Adele may miss out this week by virtue of the fact that I'm guessing there's a big gap between Jessie J and Chipmunk so Adele may not be anywhere near #2 just yet. I'm so impressed at "Price Tag", it would be hilarious if it did a "Poker Face" and sustained its sales long enough to be year-end #1 - if only so in these days of frontloaded sales, we'd have a year-end #1 which never sold over 100k in a given week for the second consecutive year. Wouldn't it be a third year if price tag got ytd, because i'm sure poker face didn't sell 100k in one week and the most love the way you lie sold in 1 week was about 68k!? February 17, 201115 yr I think all 3 will sell between 90-110k Its going to be an interesting chart on sunday
February 17, 201115 yr i dont even know if gaga can get #1 even with a video. The song is just "that" bad to most people, I think theonly, real solid shot she had was the 1st week- due to the front loaded/ loons buying it. Plus, Adelles song is BLOWING up and I just dont something thats blown up THIS hard (going up 15 places in just one day) as a fluke. This song could end up being a monster for quite some time (not the kind gaga wants)! Edited February 17, 201115 yr by JK1
February 17, 201115 yr FYI, last year FloDiz at this point was 5th, 3rd on Friday and 2nd on sunday- and had it not been for HH's physicals (which made up 54k of its total sales) it would've been a comfortable number 1 neither Jessie J nor Gaga have physicals- so she still is very much in the running for this week Edited February 17, 201115 yr by chart wizard
February 17, 201115 yr I'm not all that keen on SLY. It's one of my least favourite tracks off the album. I'd have preferred RITD to get to #1 (which it deserved). Great for Adele though, cos she actually lives up to all the hype with that voice.
February 17, 201115 yr I think the top 3 on Sunday will be: 1. Adele - Someone Like You (110k) 2. Jessie J ft B.O.B - Price Tag (95k) 3. Lady Gaga - Born This Way (90k)
February 17, 201115 yr Anyway, I hope The Cave and She Said sneak back into the top 40 by Sunday (She Said will probably need the boost from being combined with SSP which may or may not be happening to go top 40 though, otherwise it'll likely *just* miss out) The Cave is still at #31 on iTunes (while, for example, Pass Out has dropped to #43, although several other versions have cropped up in the top 300). It's weird that it's got such a huge boost without even being performed, although I suppose the fact the album got the 'top award' must have aided it quite a lot. Little Lion Man also got an unexpectedly big boost - that's also still top 40 on iTunes (#38 currently) but it doesn't really have any chance at re-entering the official top 40 while The Cave does. I wish the Mumfords had performed one of those songs on Tuesday. Timshel was a strange choice.
February 17, 201115 yr i wonder if this week will be born this way's peak and if so will it slip next week...

This song could end up being a monster for quite some time (not the kind gaga wants)! Wishful thinking I reckon... her fanbase hasn't just disappeared so I can't see it selling less than 400k in the long run, and you'd imagine she'll repeak at some point and probably go to #1. And the song hasn't got the negative reaction you're so convinced of, it's been a mixed reception but there's plenty of people that love it. Sorry to disappoint you.
February 17, 201115 yr I wish the Mumfords had performed one of those songs on Tuesday. Timshel was a strange choice. It was strange indeed. The only thing I can think of is maybe they're trying to shake off their image as 'that band that did the songs Little Lion Man and The Cave'? I think Sigh No More (the song) would be a better choice if they were wanting to do that though. I doubt they'll ever get a better known song than LLM/TC anyway. The lead single from album 2 might peak higher than LLM but it'll no way become their new signature song... unless it's really really good. Edited February 17, 201115 yr by Bray
February 17, 201115 yr I really want Born This Way to hold out to number one but I know it won't. Just hope it can when the video is released!!!!
February 17, 201115 yr Author Lady Gaga really missed the boat last week with just 36 hours before the cut of time (Saturday Midnight), if the track had the full week of sales, it would have been a different story altogether. Talk about missing the boat. -_- And now she completely missing the boat for the second time  by the looks of things.

February 17, 201115 yr I personally think adele will be around 20 k in front of gaga who will be between 2 and 4k ahead of jessie

I don't care what her fans are saying - the current situation isn't going to plan. Edited February 17, 201115 yr by bellboys
