I think next week's top 5 will go:

01 Katy Perry - Part of Me

02 JLS - Proud

03 Gotye feat Kimbra - Somebody That I Used To Know

04 Labrinth - Last Time

05 Nicki Minaj (if she releases a video it will be at #3 and bump the others down).

It's likely that we'll have an all new top 3, but then also I wouldn't be surprised if one or more underperformed. I definitely think Katy has the number 1 though, and rightfully so! It's hardly her best (in fact it's her weakest single imo) but Labrinth and JLS are two average at best tracks.

I mean at the end of the day your putting money in Gotye's pocket, it's not as if he will come and thank all of you individually. There's no need to have a heart attack because I critized his song.

There's no need to have a heart attack because it's still number 1...

In the US, they've had a few songs have three runs at #1 in recent years:

Leona Lewis - Bleeding Love

T.I. - Whatever You Like

T.I. ft. Rihanna - Live Your Life

Bruno Mars - Grenade

As for Katy's song. I don't like it that much. It's kinda okay, but I think it's quite weak compared to the likes of E.T. or even Firework.

I'm unsure as to how all of the new releases will do next week actually, I just can't see Gotye dropping from #1 to #4 or further when it's still such a massive song. They're all such weak singles by their respective artists, Last Time has finally grown on me but to see it at #1 when Earthquake couldn't get there would be ridiculous. JLS' song is a cliched non-event which will disappear as quickly as it arrived. Part Of Me is my favourite but it's FAR weaker than the six singles from the pre re-release Teenage Dream era, it really doesn't deserve to be at #1, and if it does will only do so by virtue of being a previously unavailable Katy song.

I doubt Gotye will get six weeks and I'm sure one of the new releases will get it. Part Of Me will linger around the chart for the longest so I guess it should be that but it doesn't feel strong enough to be a #1, but then it debuted at the top in the US so what do I know

I reckon 'Part Of Me', in the US anyways, sold on name alone. Having scored 5 US no. 1 singles between 2010/11, Katy Perry was the most successful US female artist so the success of 'POM' just continued where 'Last Friday Night' left off.

Then again, that's USA. Is Katy Perry that popular in the UK? Is there even a video for 'Part Of Me'? I've not seen it if there is. :P

To put it bluntly, I don't want JLS no. 1 next week. I'd rather see Nicki Minaj there.

I'd rather have

1 Gotye 6th week

2 Katy Perry

3 JLS

4 Nicki Minaj

5 Labrinth

Im not having a heart attack because it's still number 1. I just can't wait until it's not number 1 that's all

A point you have made. Now, let it drop.

£13,541.22 wasted on that song in the last 24 hours

Those who bought it do not consider it 'wasted' though.

What a strange thing to say.

I 'wasted' 99p on it quite a few weeks ago now, best waste

of money I've ever spent :)

What are the chances of Nicki releasing a music video a week after filming it?

Maybe she will though, and if so, it should stay top 3. Interesting to see how next week pans out.

JLS' new song won't be as big as people predict I reckon. I think it'll easily do 70k, but I can't see Gotye trailing off that quickly in sales and will do 73k at least. Katy I can see doing 80k. Labrinth and Nicki will be incredibly close I think. It's all just depending on the premiere of the 'Starships' video now, for Nicki. That'll be the deciding factor between them two.

I want:

1. Nicki

2. Gotye

3. Katy Perry (decent pop song, but not worthy of #1 imo)

4. Labyrinth

11. JLS :puke2: :kink:

I think it will be:

1. Katy Perry

2. Gotye

3. JLS

4. Nicki

5. Labyrinth

Why've you nicked my Lana lips! :arrr:

I reckon it will go...

01 Katy

02 Gotye

03 Labrinth

04 Nicki

05 JLS

I can only see JLS reaching #1 next week - not only is for charity, but JLS are always extremely front loaded - and a 01-01-06-01-01-08-01-02-16 discography doesn't exactly predict that 'Proud' would debut outside the top 2.

I reckon;

01 JLS

02 Labrinth

03 Gotye (feat. Kimbra)

04 Katy Perry

05 Nicki Minaj

Labrinth will have EP sales to boost it, whilst Katy Perry will lose sales because of all the fake version downloads. If it weren't for the radio airplay and fact R1 are going to be playing it all of next week after her Live Lounge special, I would've predicted Katy Perry to debut at #6/7.

Nicki is increasing really fast, she has stated that Starships video will be released before her new album (April 3rd) so this could be a #1 contender in the coming weeks if it stays around the top 5 before the video.

231. Childish Gambino - Heartbeat

^ There's a remix of this going viral at the moment, which is probably why it's in the top 300 (reminiscent of how Rack City first got into the chart ).

I sadly predict next week JLS for #1. Their fans and the charity aspect make it a certainty :(

The week after I expect them to be like #6 behind the other four and Plan B :heehee:

01 JLS

02 Katy Perry

03 Gotye

04 Minaj/Labrinth

05 Minaj/Labrinth

JLS have the #1 on lock I think. I don't really expect Katy Perry to be a factor as Part of Me seems to have zero buzz (well there is that fake version I guess but aside from that..) and also doesn't have a video yet. I don't know what they're playing at with that. I'd like Labrinth to get #1 and maybe Plan B to to knock him off next week as I'm sick of Gotye but none of the contenders (Nicki, JLS, Katy) are really worthy of #1. Labrinth is the best of a bad bunch and it would make up for Earthquake being unlucky! And then Plan B can reign until something better comes along. Realistically thought JLS will take the #1 and Nicki will knock them off the week after.

Glee episode aired today, songs are flopping more than usual :( the two highest being;

194. Sexy and I know it

210. La Isla Bonita

Oh well, atleast guest star Ricky Martin was hot :P

I can't see JLS getting to #1. The Wanted and The Saturdays both missed out with their charity efforts so I don't see what makes JLS any different. Plus 'Take A Chance On Me' and 'Do What I Feel' underperformed so it's not like they're as popular as they were in 2009.

I can't see Katy going to #1 either. She's *only* had two #1's over here (although her last six singles were all massive) and with no video I can't see it debuting at the top. It's also her worst single from this era.

I could see Labrinth getting it (hype after 'Earthquake') or Gotye.

 5. Greyhound - Swedish House Mafia

 6. Elephant (feat. Erick Morillo) - Alexandra Burke

Woo, keep climbing SHM :D I could see them possibly getting as high as #3 unless they slow down loads tomorrow. Hopefully they should now be safe from the onslaught of new releases.

(Also, I see iTunes has now declared Erick worthy of appearing on the feed now :P)
