October 16, 201213 yr If Leonas numbers already included the pre-orders then that is a disastrous start. People always think pre-orders means people pre-ordering the album, but it means how many the stores have pre-ordered. But either way it's not a good start

October 16, 201213 yr I think someone said "oh great, another Ed Sheeran" after that, which might be what people were referring to. But I agree, he *sounds* nothing like Ed Sheeran. I'll see if I can have a listen to his album in full tonight, as the songs I've heard are really great! It'll be worth it. It is a very good album.

October 16, 201213 yr I've never heard of Jake Bugg before. Considering she has had major exposure through the xfactor, the album seems unlikely to reach number one.
October 16, 201213 yr It's close, so i'm hoping tomorrow Leona will be #1 in the midweek chart update. She's #2 & #12 on iTunes with Jake Bugg at #1, so maybe she's #1 combined? Also selling more at HMV, Amazon and Play from last time I checked so not sure how he's got that lead..but it's an interesting battle to say the least, an unexpected one.

October 16, 201213 yr It's superb to see Jake Bugg at the top. It took me a while to come around because I didn't rate 'Lightning Bolt' at all (still don't) but further singles have been much better. Just downloaded the album so hope he can stay so high, nice to see someone from this musical wasteland have some success.

October 16, 201213 yr I was expecting Jake Bugg to do well and was hoping for top ten. He's playing in some decent sized venues early next year - I'm seeing him at Southampton Guildhall which is where Robbie Williams played on his first solo tour. However, number one is a real - and very pleasant - surprise even if he doesn't hold on for Sunday.
October 16, 201213 yr Jake Bugg is a new name for me. I have never heard him before this week. But already after second song there was enough for me to want to see his album as Number 1 on Sunday. So fresh at last! It would be good tendency for UK to choose new artist instead of xFactor's participant. Actually I like Leona, she's the best from this show in miles but time changes. Leona will probably hold up better throughout the week. #2/3 would still be a highly impressive result for him though Although The xx managed to beat The Script to #1 with less airplay & name recognition, so anything is possible

If Jake Bugg can beat Leona Lewis (even if he doesn't make number one) that will be a tremendous achievement.
October 17, 201213 yr LIES.WHITE ONES TOO! :angry: The new GA single is very good, but only as a "buzz single" sort of song. It's not very GA, is it? They never used to chase trends to get a hit! They were usually setting them :( But anyway, this is for another topic, which I'm gonna post in now :P
