Yeah, must be real hard to speak the same lyrics in a monotone voice over basic production.

But you don't understand! The song uses its repetition to great effect, by lodging that limited set of lyrics deep in your skull, until you can't help but become strangely addicted! It makes for an interesting and truly epic listening experience :D

I don't mind dance songs that repeat themselves, off the top of my head Waiting All Night and Need U (100%) did not have many lyrics but the vocals and production were just much more interesting than them.

The minimalistic production is the whole point of the song though! Not every dance song has to sound like David Guetta produced it

I'm not sure what to say... It might grow on me but it's nothing special so far

...I kinda like it? Maybe because it emulates the old mid-late 80s underground house sound, could have easily been been a club hit in about 1986 if not quite a chart one back then. Also loving the video, maybe the scorching sunshine through my window is helping too.

Already up to #12 on iTunes so looks like it'll be a hit anyways

I can understand the indifference here, but I like this.

An regarding the mid-late 80s underground house sound - there were a lot of hits around that time with 'Jack' in the title, including a #1 hit by Steve 'Silk' Hurley ("Jack Your Body"). There was also "Jack The Groove" (#20), "The Jack That House Built" (#48) and "Jack To The Sound Of The Underground" (#14).

Should have been called JARK though. MISSED A TRICK. :(

This is laughably terrible. Wow :/

'Jack' has been signed by Defected. New mixes coming soon

Originally released in 2013 by Ben Westbeech's club moniker Breach, 'Jack' remains one of the standout records from a time often coined deep house's golden era. With notable crossover success that included a Top 10 chart position in the UK Singles chart and constant presence on the biggest festival and club stages, 'Jack' remains an era-defining club anthem. Now picked up by Defected in 2022, the London house institution will continue the legacy of 'Jack' into the next decade of dance.

Oh good to see the song's finally back on Spotify, baffling that it ever got removed in the first place mind as it was a fairly recent-ish top 10 hit.

Hope we get a great remix out of this re-promotion but the original still slaps.

This was one of my few favorites' of the deep house era - it reminded me of one of the several youtube remixes of Age Of Empires computer game sound effects! Especially the elephant sounds in it like in this one:

I'm quite shocked by the negative reactions from the time of the first release. This is a legendary track and the acapella is still used a lot as a DJ tool a lot
Breach's follow up 'Everything You Never Had' ft. Andreya Triana is an epic too.

Lmao I was such a hater. It's not even that bad!

The follow up was much better

This was better and should have had more success.

Everything You Never Had was quite possibly the best house track of the decade, I still listen to it regularly now
