September 1, 201312 yr True. Hey Whatever was a decent track and had it gone to #1 I expect they would have continued with a more mature song. Every time they released a slightly more interesting/different sound and it charted at #4/#5 instead of #1 they rushed back to the traditional ballad cover before they eventually became a parody of themselves circa 2006. Shame. The Longer Blurred Lines spends at the top end of the chart, the more chance it has of becoming the biggest seller of the century! :o Yes it's easy to see that a no.4 peak would panic them. Such a shame though.
