Looks like no Lady Gaga as Jameela said there'd be 11 new entries. The OCC betta fix this by the end of the week -_-

Maybe she should have released it as a single 'in its own right', though I would wager that she couldn't care less about UK chart positions.

This is the 2nd release now.

Top 40 you mean ;)

Eek at that though.

It's within the Top 40, it's #34.

No I meant Top 30 - It's #34, Didnt expect it to free fall quite that much!

Oh that's not what it say to me

That's not a good drop all the same.

I hear she's apparently planning on doing just that worldwide.

Could mean a low entry this week if she does it soon and then a climb next week with X Factor (if she even performs this).

Why is Gaga's DWUW not chart eligible?????

Many other songs you get automatically with your pre-order have charted before....

I read somewhere that OCC allows 2 songs from each album from pre-order, that's why Katy's WOA was not allowed to chart after Roar and Dark Horse...

But this is her 2nd song, not 3rd...

Don't get it.

'Walking On Air' was only Katy's 2nd. 'Roar' was released as a standard single.

'Walking On Air' is now charting by the way (from a secret but reputable source it was #54 yesterday) so that seems to confirm the theory that only 1 pre-order track per album can chart. I hope they change that in light of the 'Do What U Want' situation.

Poor brave Steven Wilson going to miss the top 40 with his latest album :( Hopefully the same fate will not happen to my other favourite album chart superstar Joe Bonamassa.

Is that not because the album is now released though? (i'm not up on these rules and technicalities of the chart anymore. SO CONFUSING.)

That rule is unfair... You don't get a song from free. You're charged NOW for that song you get automatically and then you're charged for the rest of the album when it's released...

It's a paid download that should be counted.

Yes, it is because the album is released, so it's not a '2nd pre-order track' any more. Like how before they changed the pre-order rule Coldplay's 'Paradise' became eligible when their album came out.

For all those Reconnected fans:

MIDWEEK UPDATE!

Ok guys... this IS do-able!

We're literally JUST outside of the top 40. We've been in it this week already and now it's literally just slipped out today for the official midweeks.

In other words, bombing quite unspectacularly.

The rule is to stop an artist releasing a single a week off an album with big-ish pre-orders and thus gaining 'hit' after hit that drop the week after and sales end up not even counting towards the songs when the album drops.

But what about the copies from people who download just the track and have not pre-ordered the album? Why don't count those ones?

Obviously, most of DWUW downloads would be from the album pre-order, but maybe a... 30%? could be proper downloads... Are those copies wasted?

Yes, it is because the album is released, so it's not a '2nd pre-order track' any more. Like how before they changed the pre-order rule Coldplay's 'Paradise' became eligible when their album came out.

So are Eminem's 3 singles all seperate from the album preorder?

Interesting that James Blunt and Katy Perry sold around the same number of copies on Tuesday, especially after Katy's huge lead on Monday. Depending on whether Katy continues slowing down so dramatically the race could be closer than expected.
