Top 40 Friday Update

2 Philip George - Wish You Were Mine * (added to the unluckiest #2s :( )

4 Ben Haenow - Something I Need (is this streamable? maybe BS could overtake it if it isn't )

5 Taylor Swift - Blank Space

13 Hozier - Take Me To Church (slow burner?

14 Clean Bandit and Jess Glynne - Real Love (great seeing this staying around this region :D )

25 Sia - Chandelier (the female Ed Sheeran :drama: (still great song though)

28 Ella Henderson - Ghost :D

29 Calvin Harris feat. John Newman - Blame :drama: Taylor where are you? :P

30 Clean Bandit feat. Jess Glynne - Rather Be ^ :cheer: :cheer:

31 Blonde feat. Melissa Steel - I Loved You (nice to see it climbing :) )

32 Mr Probz - Waves poor UV :( (but still  :music:  )

33 Pharrell - Happy ^ could be worse it could have climbed higher :drama: )

34 Sigma feat. Paloma Faith - Changing ^ Up Down (Do This All Day) :P

37 John Legend - All Of Me ^ Was expecting this higher for some reason

39 The Script - Superheroes ^ :D

Hopefully streaming can knock "Happy" back out by Sunday. We don't need deadwood from 2013 in the charts. And also, we don't need X becoming best selling album of 2015 as well

But it reached #1 last year so not really unexpected

X won't be best but may look like Uptown Funk's ranking in 2014 #1s...

I really hope 'Listen To The Man' sneaks in somehow by Sunday. It's been between #30-#35 on iTunes all week

I love the video

Nice little tune :)

:cheer:

Maybe the GCE is helping?

It would be cool if you could see what was being helped by the GCE i.e. sales I don't know if iTunes or a site does it (or individual stores selling the cards)

so then that makes this the order of the rest of the top 10,

6 Olly and Demi

7. Meghan

8. TT

9. Alesso

10. Calvin/Ellie

?

That seems about right but perhaps Outside won't be #10

Well it's just the old songs climbing back up, that's all it is really...

Why has Oasis' 'Time Flies' re-entered the top 40? Has it been discounted somewhere?

Selling for around £3.99 everywhere (iTunes, Amazon etc,)

Yes but it would be nice to know how many is using gift cards to get Heroes (if anyone reading this has one, get Heroes and not any of the other obvious ones!!)

Kanye West & Paul McCartney should hopefully provide a second top 40 entry (I know it only has 3 days of sales but it is top 5 on iTunes now). Of course that won't make the top 40 THAT much fresher but 2 is better than 1. Plus it'd mean there's a 2015-premiered song in the first chart of 2015, I'm sure that pretty much never happens

Wow at 'Happy', I had a feeling it might have been back in the top 40 in the mids but only around #39 or so as streaming has been mostly working against it so far. Looks like it'll safely get a 50th week top 40. Would love to see it reach 52 weeks.

Or maybe it will re-enter the top 40 on sales only

Listen To The Man now on course to lose five top 40 weeks due to streaming. :o

Wowwy at Lana soaring up the album chart!

The effect one day at 99p on Google store can do for an album. Definitely one of their better bargains of the week.

Poor George Ezra. Maybe he should concentrate on promoting this instead of promoting the other two

What about 1D ?

Four, Steal My Girl and Night Changes please ? :)

Whilst I agree it's irratating for Listen to the Nan to continually fall short - it's really whether the album is selling - which it still is by the bucket load, so I doubt he or the record company care too much

Expecting decent album sales again due to the ongoing sales and 99p deals - Today's are George Ezra, Damien Rice and Cheryl - Hoping Cheryl gets a huge boost back into the Top 30 at least

:kink:

(Plus 'Budapest' and 'Blame It On Me' are both still doing extremely well anyway, he doesn't really need a third hit right now).
